READ THE WHOLE QUOTE.....THE POINT I WAS MAKING IS THAT USUALLY WHEN BANKS ARE ROBBED(BY BLACC PEOPLE)...MURDER IS NOT THE FOCUS...I HAVE SEEN A LOT MORE MURDERS WITH MY EYES THAN BANKS ROBBED SO I WOULD NEVER SAY BANK ROBBERY IS WORSE THAN MURDER....MURDERS TAKE LIVES....USUALLY BANK ROBBERIES DON'T..UNLESS THE CULPRITS ARE CAUGHT & THEN THE ONLY LIFE TAKEN IS THEIR OWN CUZ THEY GET VERY LONG SENTENCES.....I'VE SEEN PEOPLE TRIED & CONVICTED(4 MURDER) & GET WAY LESS TIME THAN THE FEW PEOPLE I KNOW WHO HAVE BEEN CONVICTED FOR ROBBING BANKS....MONEY IS MORE VALUABLE IN THE U.S. THAN HUMAN LIFE & THAT'S A SHAME IF YOU ASK ME.....NEXT TIME YOU WANT 2 QUESTION WHAT I FEEL...READ MY POSTS SOBER OR DO A BACCGROUND CHECC & (REAL)IZE WHO YOU ARE TALKING 2 CUZ I USUALLY BACC ALL MY SHIT UP WITH FACTS.....HAPPY OBAMA/KING DAY HOMIE....KEEP IT MOBBY
I was indeed, very sober when I read your post. However, your lack of punctuation makes it difficult to read and comprehend some of the information. So pardon my misinterpretation, and thank you for answering my question.

...MONEY IS MORE VALUABLE IN THE U.S. THAN HUMAN LIFE..
Very powerful statement. I couldn't have said it better myself.

You have a good one bro.

I feel that Eazy-E just doesn't get as much respect or recognition that he deserves because of how he died. If he would've gotten merked, he would be worshipped and revered like a Pac, Big, JMJ, MD, etc., but since he died of AIDS, people don't mention him or remember him as much as all of these MC's and artists that got merked. I find it very puzzling that Eazy died 10 days after being diagnosed with AIDS. WTF strain did he contract????? Instant AIDS???? His death defied all I know about HIV and AIDS. Hell, Magic Johnson contracted HIV over 15 years ago, and is doing better than ever. Go Figure. Eazy-E was/is the GODFATHER of Gangsta Rap/WestCoast Music. He brought a coalition of artists to the table.......Dr. Dre, Yella, MC Ren, Ice Cube, D.O.C., Arabian Prince, Sir Jinx, Bone Thugs, Compton's Most Wanted, DJ Quik, XZibit, Mack 10, Snoop Dogg, DPG, damn i know i'm missing some. My point is, it's hard to find an successfull artist from SoCal without playing the 6 degrees of Eazy-E game...
Good post Cheez.

Luke Campbell, James Smith (J-Prince) and Eazy have to be the most ignored pioneers in the game. They all singlehandely put the West and the South on a global level in a time where the things they did was strictly taboo As fans and artists, we all owe them a great amount of gratitude. Yeah many came before them, but who made these areas explode like they did?

Above The Law, Kokane, JJ Fad, Will-I-Am(Pre Black Eye Peas), Michele' (Shit any and all Comptons rappers) and so much more are people who Eazy was responsible for giving them their breaks... Eazy -E is hands down the most influential West Coast figure there ever will be. He took the west coast out of the slums and put our movement on front street. He even gave Too Short a national platform by having Short open for NWA back in 89. Alot of cats are too young to remember Too Short and NWA at the Oakland Coliseum, but I remember cause it was huge. Eazy E made the West Coast a phenomenon when it was considered jut a regional sound. Priority took a chance on Eazy not only because he was ground breaking, but Proiority Records at the time was best known as the label that put out the California Grapes (Who remembers that). He made Priority the go to label in the early 90's way before No Limit did. Any nigga front on Eazy is not only ludicrous but just a motherfucka that don't know his history... Boyz in The Hood is still one of the all time greats songs ever recorded, thanks to Ice Cube and Eazy.
Thats all i was sayin. Great post!

I remember back in like 87 (When the whole bay was 415) being a young nigga playin lil league football and at the end of the season, we would go to L.A. and play the L.A. Packers (A Red team), and at the time bay niggas wasn't really up on the Crip/Blood shit and all bay niggas used to say was wassup blood (which was related to 415 influence in the Pen), and we would git into near riots cause them L.A. niggas felt disrespected, but bay niggas wasn't backin down cause we was just as real as they was which brought a mutual respect. But i say that to say this.

When we went out to L.A., we had to spend the night at the houses of the kids we used to play against so they would let us hear local artist who was crackin (mainly Eazy E) and we would put them up on Too Short (this was when Freaky Tales came out wit the yellow cover). We used to argue for days about who had the realest niggas and music. this is before niggas used to claim the bay as a whole. Every city in the bay used to lightweight funk back then so niggas was claim they set, not the whole bay. Short just happened to get the jive deal and Eazy ended up with the Priority deal. back in the Days the bay wasn't known for gangsta rap, we was known for being players, D-Boys and hustlers about they money who would peel you for fuckin off they money or disrespectin them or they set, and L.A. rappers were known for being on the gang related tip with the Crips and Blood influence and they was bangin for red or blue. Once niggas got past the gang politics, Bay niggas embraced Eazy and NWa as our OG's and they spoke for all of cali. niggas is lyin if they say they didn't put on a pair of locs and a raider hat because of NWA. Niggas was wearin Cazells and on the floss shit out here in the bay before that. They changed the way Cali niggas dressed across the board. You had to really have money out here to stand out in the bay in the 80's, them niggas said fuck that, a black hat, Black locs, a pair of Nike Cortez is the new attire for any street nigga money or not.

Now on Too Short, I aint a Oakland nigga, but to me that makes my view just as valuable because I think Short is the nigga who really paved the way to git money off this rap shit with out a major deal or major distribution in the Bay and beyond. Even before Short did the 75 Girls shit he was puttin his shit on tapes and jookin them on the same dope spots that niggas pushed weight on. I remember hearin Invasion of the Flat booty Bitches and Blow Job Betty back in 82 way before I ever heard of Eazy E cause there was no Eazy E the rapper til 85-86. Short and 75 Girls were making big moves and at the time, was probably the only real street label pushin the type of units that made real impact. Yeah there were other labels, but Too Short was so prolific, he was droppin album after album. the Don't Stop rappin album blew the doors on music in the Bay. Girl, That's your life was when Short said, "I Come From The City of Dope, It couldn't be saved by John the Pope", and every city like East Palo Alto, Oakland, San Francisco, Richmond, Vallejo automatically related and becasue of this, Too Short became way bigger than just a Oakland Rapper. Too SHort was the first rapper in the bay to transcend his own borders which was Oakland. he was the first rapper to be respected in every urban city in the Bay at the same time. no bay rapper can say that but him. Shit, because of Too Short yellin Oakland on damn near every song (Even though he was born in L.A.), he actually made it Ok to rep your city and put your area on the map. Niggas wasn't doin that before him period.

When Too Short started Dangerous Music with Freaky Tales, he created the original sound that later became known as mobb music, with the deep bass and bass lines on slow moving tracks. Niggas want to say 40 started the mob sound (He later became the champion for it), but you would be foolish to forget about Dope Fiend Beat, shit actually the whole Born To Mack and Life Is Too Short albums because they changed the way bay niggas made beats and rapped. Especially Life Is Too Short, he spit not gangsta rap, but reality rap speakin on the money, but also the consequences to sellin dope. He never glorified the shit like say how NWA did gang life. Short spoke on the game from the stand point of any real nigga caught up in the trap of living in the ghetto having to make the ultimate choice to feed your family and survive in hard times (The Reagan Era). Shit Eazy was smart to click up wit Short and make the first real bay to L.A. connection. Short influenced niggas wit money as well as niggas wit none at all and made niggas feel like I can put my experience on wax and if i put my drive and hustle into, I can be successful. the rap game owes Todd Shaw everything, because before him, there was no game to play. He opened a lane for real niggas to choose. you didn't have to sell dope, you could package up your music and git money. Niggas think the only real nigga was a nigga wit a sack in his hand. he proved real niggas could be more than that if they chose to think outside the box.

Almost 30 year in the game and still relevant, and how can you argue that Short aint sittin at the pennacle of what the bay is. bay niggas aint gangstas (in the sense of claimin a gang affilitiation), we real niggas wit Heart, Hustle and G.A.M.E.

The Last Thing: I heard some one say you only an old school rapper if you are no longer relevant so short can't be an old school rapper cause he still outselling almost 80-90% of most niggas in the game period
