"RIP to Bay Area Rap Music" that thread started by Terrapatch. question is how many people actually have bought music from a new artists? People are going to the same artists that let them down before and mad because they are dissappointed. You dont go to the cemetary to find live shit. Go to the artists that produce consistently good stuff. If they fall off, dont keep going back. Also, take a chance on a new artist.

The bay is not dead until the consumers stop buying local music. THEN its dead. So the question is, who on the siccness actually buys music from newer artists (not people in your camp). If people on a underground rap forum don't buy it... then who the fuck will.

I'd like to see the replies from people to this questions: What rap CD's from new artists have you BOUGHT lately and how was it. If everybody would stop sukin they own dick, self-promotin they own shit, maybe we could separate the real from the fake and support some new talent. Stop yaywhooin about marginally talented CD's.... cuz then its all a blur. But when there comes some good shit from newer artists, people gotta support em.

Also if the reviews come from the people who put it out (or in they camp)... its probably biased and bullshit. If the reviews come from different people, cities, magazines, tastes... and they all say its hittin'..... then that CD's prolly cool.

ps....that little city called Richmond is startin to make some noise.

i listened to hella shit on the net ,samples ,i never judge a cd without knowing it ,having listened to it...

the only cds i like from northern cali in 2001-2002-2003 are ADR on apt.3 ,and young droop.
I supported them and bought the cds ,i feel like they are slept on ,i like the products ,i buy the cds...

if more cds were tight ,(and 99% of newer bay cds ,in my opinion ,are) i'd buy them.

what people mean is that they miss the old bay style ,when the shit was WORKED ON ,not done quickly ,to get a lil money ,when shit had CONTENT ,basslines ,keyboards ,shit was original ,had different styles everywhere in the bay (richmond ,oakland ,SF ,sacramento even though it aint the bay ,EPA)...

can you say that now?
hell no

most of that newer shit is wack ,i need to say it like i feel it ,evrything sounds alike ,nothing stands out ,no more originality ,flows ,shit is just NOISY to me ,i miss the musical feel the bay had a few years ago ,thats all.

i dont wanna talk shit and say ALL THAT newer shit is wack etc ...
I feel like most of rappers ,everywhere in the US ,not just in the bay ,could come way better than they do ,there's still talent ,it can be developped..
