Another legend gone...

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Etta James' manager says the singer has died in California.

Lupe De Leon tells The Associated Press the blues singer died early Friday at a hospital.
De Leon says the cause of death is complications of leukemia.

James, a key figure in the early days of R&B music, has won three Grammy Awards.
She is best known for her 1961 hit "At Last."

Her final album, "The Dreamer," was released in November 2011

RIP her voice expressed feeling better than 99% of others to do it.

Has anyone been to the Boom Boom Room on Fillmore and Geary? She used to frequent that spot a lot when she was travelling thru the bay. They have some couple classic photos of her hanging on the wall.

Kind of makes you remember there was a time when popular female musicians actually had talent and weren't just talentless industry produced sex symbols.
I was thinking about that same thing the other day. Factory produced, worthless eye candy.
No emotion, no lyrics.

RIP to a real artist.
