rim spacers??

did a search and couldnt find anything on them here. i know some of you peeps are sittin on rims whatever shape or size.. have any of you had to use rim spacers?

i heard they might fuck up your axel somehow?
how much will they cost so the rim shops dont try to rip me off?
do they last long?

thanks in advance.. i dont wana drive my car til i get some rim spacers cuz they fucked up my air line to my rear suspension and just got my car back from the shop today.

If you get rim spacers you don't really have to worry about bending your axles. You can get two different types of rims spacers; those of which are hub centric and not hub centric. The hub centric spacers are more for hi-po cars. Most auto stores do not sell spacers them anymore since on hi-po cars if you do not get hub centric spacers you can rip the lug nut studs right off. Call up napa autoparts around your place and ask if they carry them. How much are you going to space out your rims?

If you are going to put spacers on the front of your car I would not go bigger than 1/4". You car will turn so sloppy its not even funny. Also double check all clearances with your tires rubbing your fender wells.

oh shit thanks for the details.. well im thinkin bout gettin 1/2 inch? only the front tires need them, but that would look stupid if i just put spacers on the front so i'm doin the back too. looks like i need those hub centric spacers, fuck the risk of gettin my lug nuts stripped.... good lookin out

I would go to the wheel place you go to. Ask them if they got hub centric wheel spacers. They've probably got a big selection and in-stock. Like I said before napa/kragen/pep boys/etc are straying away from carrying wheel spacers. I think I paid like 16$ for some wheel spacers at napa, but that was a long time ago.

I think it was like 16$ for both. This was like years ago though. For a set of hub centric spacers I bet your looking at like 50$.

i got a 94 park ave on 2s and i got the spring spacers... i can ride wit me and a passanger but when i put some weight in tha back i rub hella hard... plus my air ride dont work no more so that could be the problem
