Some of you people in here need counseling. Yall are acting angry with Rick Ross. It's not that serious. Do you know how many rappers don't live what they rap about? Fools need to look at rap the same way they would look at a movie...as entertainment and not take the person serious who's playing the part.

The difference is Rick Ross isn't walking down red carpets and doing interviews talking about "getting into character" or how he is different than the guy he plays on his CDs. No he is selling tickets talking about what I say on my music is really me. Actors don't hide who they really are off the camera, Rick Ross does, that makes him worse than those actors who are at least real about it.

That's alot of rappers. 2pac lied about getting shot 5 times. Really it was just once in the nuts, but 5 shots made him sound tough. Then he got locked up and Thug Life is over. He gets out and it's Thug Life again.
Brotha Lynch says on his first album he "just can't gang bang," but then says at the end of songs, "Nigga, it's still Crip."
Lots of rappers from LA were vouching for The Game because of his brother. Then him and his brother go their own ways, and then all these rappers talking about how fake he is.

Then you got 50 cent snitching on Black Child for stabbing him. That BEEF dvd verified it.

I dont know how many times pac got shot but he got shot, bucked at police, stomped out bangers and did enough for me to say well this nigga at least tryna live this image he so strongly portrays.

You can be blood or crip and not bang anymore you just identify with the hood your from.

And game really banged, got shot (he wasn't no super banger though) if u from LA and get around some non-biased niggas from compton you would learn this.

So Rick Ross is going hard with this I'm a super dealer shit but he is the exact opposite and because of that I can't fuck with his music. It's not just about the music... his product is based off of a persona as well, and his persona has been defamed so I cant fuck with his product -in other words he fucked up with his artistic license.

Point is, you have to be a lame if you expect for rappers to live what they rap about. And actually, it's stupid to expect that. They rap the songs and get rich, while the stupid ass listeners try to live the lyrics. I just don't understand where some of you are coming from with this. Like I said earlier, I don't look at the rap game any differently than I look at the movie industry.

Some of you are hypocrites. When a rapper get locked up for doing the things he talks about doing in his songs, yall say that he's stupid. You say that he has too much money and popularity to be doing those things. But when a dude doesn't live that way, like in this case, yall call him a fraud. Make up yall's minds.

That's the image the public is left with. In reality he got shot once, Stretch said he only heard one shot, 2pac himself only talks about the bullet hole in his boxers and mentions getting shot in the head, but never anything past that.
As for shooting the police, he shot at a guy he didn't know was an off duty police offer till after the incident.
And as for stomping out Orlando Anderson, it was him as well as Suge and his entourage doing the stomping. That suggests more of a follower.
Acting like a thug until you face soft time, then act it again when you get out is not real.

I understand that, but repping a gang but never been active in your life is not respected around here. The ones who only rep a gang on albums but pull the "I don't bang/claim" line when confronted by rivals have a luxury that real gangsters don't have.

I agree with you on the fakeness of his raps when he used to be a CO. But I see him being a cop as being a natural progression of the direction hip-hop was heading anyways. Right now got a well known snitch beefing with a well known cop.
Alot of these rappers are actors and phonies who portray an image only to make money off of it.
I agree with you that Rick Ross is one of the bigger, if not biggest frauds in rap. But alot of these other guys are also actors.

I know niggas are actors, but don't you see most of these rappers when they get jammed up say its just music? when has ross ever said that, ever. this nigga goes hard with this fraud shit to better sell you his product. Backpackers, alt. rap, whatever tell u its music off top, "gangsta" rappers usually say its music when shit is getting deep, Rick Ross lies all the way through and I will not support that.

“Ay! You d-ck sucka Lloyd Banks, if you come out one mo’ time with that ugly cheap ass Statue of Liberty piece you then had for the last 4 years, I’ma personally put a 100 grand hit out on yo d-ck sucking ass. Find his b-tch ass in a trunk,” warns Ross.

After reading this, I see what your talking about.
I can see how it would be, tryna listen to his music with all these retarded youtube videos he makes and taking his police background into consideration.
But for me, at this point in my life, I view him the same as most gangsta rappers. They're profiting off gang/drug life while influencing young kids. If he wasn't a CO what difference would it make in the end? He's still sending out the same message, still making money off of it. Would it be better that he really was dealing drugs, and if so how?

Whether CO or not... i don't see how anyone could have taken Ross' lyrics serious in the first place...

I've always just taken it as entertainment...

i remember one line he said, i think it was in that "boss" song with T-Pain... "i made a million dollars last year pushin weight"...

everybody knows if you're really pushin weight your not gonna broadcast the shit to the world...

c'mon now...

It would be better that he was really selling drugs so the police can lock his fat ass up. nah but really I didn't like his super overcompensation when he first came out ("I know noreiga...") but I still bumped some of his shit, then you find out he the opposite and he goin hard wit the lyin and so forth....not for me. Shoulda just said yeah, I did that shit back then I don't anymore.
