Actually, i DO listen to other music...much more than i listen to rap. But that is really irrelevant in this discussion.

Its the irony that is the plot line in the whole Rick Ross situation. Out of ALL the mainstream rappers you see on TV, how many of them were with law enforcement BEFORE they were gangster rappers? SO far, one....Rick Ross.

If people cant see the outright humor in that, than obviously you need to adjust your funny bone.

Add that to the fact that he is a shitty rapper, and you have a recipe for, well, crap.

Music always has more soul, when the artist is speaking from experience. Do you think someone like Layne Staley would have been half the singer he was if he WEREN'T a junky? Would John Coltrane's music been as nearly as spastic and crazy had he not been a junky? How about some of the greatest blues singers to ever touch a guitar/mic, would they have been any good if they WERENT feeling the blues? Or how about everyone's beloved 2Pac...would his music be even remotely as strong had he NOT been an activist for his people/thug??? Would anyone care about Public Enemy if they were posers and didnt really feel what they rapped about?

The list can go on forever...and guess what? There are PLENTY of rappers that live what they talk about...however, and most likely for the better of music, it seems that "being real" is not an option anymore. I think this is why underground rap was so important, because you really feel like reality and rap was fuzed together. C-Bo didnt go to jail because he j-walked. X-Raided isnt doing a 25-to-life term for stealing candy from 7-11.

I mean, it is what it is. People have different opinions on the subject...i just happen to HATE liars. The fact that he DENIED being a CO in the first place, is cause enough not to like him. Man up.
Paragraphs of pure emptiness and pointlessness. C-Bo stayed in jail for countless probation and parole violations (License issues, dirty piss, rapping about gangs, etc) Yes he made a mistake to get himself in the system but the truth is C-Bo would be dope regardless of his jail experience because he has "talent". You are confusing being real with being talented...u make it seem like a rapper gangbanging and going to jail is a rites of passage. I dont believe Spice 1 has ever spent an extended amount of time in jail but is one of the coldest killem up rappers there is. Anyone who knows Lynch knows he is somewhat of a quiet timid fella, yet and still is one of the coldest. U ever here about Scarface (Brad Jordan) going to jail or being in some bullshit? No! Yet he is a living fucking legend!! Why? Talent!

To bring my point home.....Your Siccness persona would lead me to believe u are a serious asshole with limited intelligence. But I will give u the benefit of the doubt that its just your computer persona...Im sure u are probably a nice guy in real life.

Maybe you need to re-read what i wrote then. There is a point to everyine written and its hardly empty.

And you are missing the point.

You are confusing being real with being talented...
No, you making them mutually exclusive.

u make it seem like a rapper gangbanging and going to jail is a rites of passage.
In some ways, yes...it kind of is. How you gonna speak on some shit you dont have any business talking about?

I dont believe Spice 1 has ever spent an extended amount of time in jail but is one of the coldest killem up rappers there is.
I shouldnt have made comitting crimes synonmous with jail, that was my bad. I was simply using it as a point of reference.

Anyone who knows Lynch knows he is somewhat of a quiet timid fella, yet and still is one of the coldest.
We never take Lynch at face value..sorry, but horrocore is = entertainment, more tha any other genre of music.

U ever here about Scarface (Brad Jordan) going to jail or being in some bullshit? No! Yet he is a living fucking legend!! Why? Talent!
This is completely subjective. I never saw Scarface as a legend. BUt he speaks on MANY subjects, not just kiling and drug dealing.

To bring my point home.....Your Siccness persona would lead me to believe u are a serious asshole with limited intelligence.
Youre entitled to your opinion, no matter how far fetched or untrue it is.

But I will give u the benefit of the doubt that its just your computer persona...Im sure u are probably a nice guy in real life.
No offense, but i dont need shit from you or anyone here. I have my opinion about this subject and you have yours. Some people believe that being a liar, being presented with that lie, and then DENYING that lie, is unforgivable and flat out funny.

Its kinda strange how u expect a "rapper" to be "real" as u say...yet in your avi u have a display questioning if GOD is real. So you put more faith in a rapper saying he did dirt than u do of GODS existence? Here is a person with his priorities fucked up ladies and gentleman.

There is more of a chance that a rapper is real than there is a god. Ill let you do the math on that one.

:ermm:

My priorities are fucked up by who's criteria...yours? Again, no offense, but who the fuck cares? Your idea of priorities have absolutely NOTHING to do with mine...not even a little bit. So you can keep your opinion on what YOU feel is right for ME, to your self. Im all for agreeing to disagree, but one you start adding your little 2 cents on how YOU feel about MY life, you can pretty much suck my balls. Thanks and have a nice day.

You brought up that rap is entertainment, did you not? Therefore, since Court Dog is a rapper, err, ENTERTAINER, i can only assume that everything he raps about is a fabrication as well. Or do the rules not apply for him?

Simple logic is not that hard to figure out.

Actually Court Dogg isnt a rapper anymore He not even known as court dog no more his name is Courtney Richardson. He been retired from rap like in 07. and now he making real paper with his movie writting and directing skills. So honestly he is in no comparision to rick ross in this thread.

Ross is doing something right word is his album did some good numbers(he outsold bow wow and them niggas).

so it looks like his 1994 C.O job and 50 Cent didnt effect his sells nah bit.

Im not gonna lie I did buy deeper than rap album for the record bc i like half of it.

So yall would support a rapper if his ass worked on some molly maid shit cleaning dishess or toilets or if he was gay long as he really did what hwe rapped about? Point is music is entertainment why you think they called recording artists for?(to entertain and paint pictures with words) I said a long time ago we dont know what Ross's reason for being a correction officer was really for. Maybe he just got a quik job available to feed himself or maybe he got the job to handle dirty business for his niggas locked up. who knows we will never know bc he not gonna incriminate him self with reality facts. point is fuck his past 9-5 from 10+ years ago its about the music thats all that matters. since hes a recording artist now.

if im correct "all i really want" w/ the dream will be the next single. the video was already done. that song has top 10 radio/video hit written all over it. the mainstream crowd will eat it up, plus it's damn good remake of an 80's r&b classic "love come down."

Let apply your logic a little further here. If music is "all that matters" you wouldn't care if Ross was a convicted pedophile 10 years ago as long as he made good music today? Rapist? Killed 5 kids?

Where do you draw the line if you say you don't care about the past and its only the the music "that matters"?

Point is Ross isnt so I dont havew to speak on it but if you want to hear my 25 cent here it is.

Nice try but you got it all wrong. I said I dont care about his past job.

You on a different topic and situation.

Also

a past job is in no comparision to a conviction. Some yall on here support hastak, spm and they are convicted pedolphilers. Most of us still listen to R Kelly even though he wasnt found guilty hold on we all love 2 pac he was convicted of sex crime, muthafuckas support elton john and he a stone fag hold on, we like x-raided and he a convicted murderer, what bout yall boy sycx yall support him this can go on for years. . anyway it goes this a different topic.
