6/19, 34 total yards, 3 INTERCEPTIONS, 0 TD’s.

That’s it, I’m officially on the Griese bandwagon. I've been supportive of T-Rex up until now. I cannot take anymore god damn turnovers. This guy is playing beyond horrible:

In five of the last seven games, Bears QB Rex Grossman has 6½ times more interceptions than touchdown passes. The Bears somehow have managed to be 3-2 in those games.

Game............. Att-Cmp.......Yds.......Sacks......TD .......Int......Rating
WIN vs. Cardinals.....14-37.....148.....2......0.....4.....10.7
LOSS vs. Dolphins......18-42.....210......3......1......3...... 36.8
WIN at Jets.......11-22.......119.....1.....1......0 ......81.4
LOSS at Patriots .......15-34......176.....1 .....0......3......23.7
WIN vs. Vikings......6-19.......34 ......1......0.....3......1.3

For the year he has a rating of 72.0, 18 TDs and 17 INT’s with 4 lost fumbles.

If Grossman plays like this in the playoffs, they are done. You cannot expect to win playoff games by defense and special teams alone.

Perhaps Lovie Smith is scared that a QB change this late in the season will be disastrous like the case in Denver, whatever the reason he continues to stand by Grossman. When is enough enough?

Regarding yesterday’s game against the MN Vikings:

Devin Hester is the truth! Another TD, a punt returned 45 yards (see below for video) for a touchdown, his 4th of the season and currently leads the NFL in Punt Return average and TDs, and the Bears defense generated five takeaways for the second straight game while scoring a touchdown (Ricky Manning Jr. INT) and a safety.

Where would this team be without their Defense and special teams?

Here are some videos of Hester:

Punt return from yesterdays game

Hester against Duke (college)

Here is his first PR for a TD against GB (look how fast he is!)

Heres one against Florida (college):

Here is the one that won the game against AZ:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Npxi2h4eccU

And here is the 108 yard missed field goal return:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tq-3uIGr6JE

Back to Grossman:

On the other hand,
Payton Mannings first year as QB:

Game Starts = 16 of 16 , Attempts = 575 , Completions = 326 , Yards = 3739, % = 56.7 , TD's = 26 , Interceptions = 28, QB Rating = 71.2

Grossman's first real year as a QB:

Game Starts = 12 of 12, Attempts = 365, Completions = 198, Yards = 2424, % = 54.2 , TD's = 18 , Interceptions = 17, QB Rating = 72.0

So, the question really is, would you bench a QB that has led you to a 10-2 record this late in the season? Should da bears "ride it out" and hope for the best or not take the chance and put in a Vet. QB now before the playoffs?

With this team and the great defense and special teams, all you got to do is run the ball and the occasional pass. Just don't turn the ball over and they'd be unbeatable. Shit, Kyle Ortin would probably have less turnovers.
So basically be the Bears of the last 2 years.

Im very disappointed in the production, or lack there of, of Rex. At the begining of the year, it looked as if the NFL had a legitmiate juggernaut to look up to. Alas, that dream is over.

With the Cowboys surging, the Bears are no longer safe.

Good point.

I'm disappointed too but I never had high expectations of Rex. Even when he was doing good and people were saying they'd go undefeated I pointed out in a thread that he was still making a lot of bad mistakes and got lucky a number of passes were not intercepted.

I dunno, I guess I'm just very concerned. Maybe Rex is in a slump and his confidence has been shattered and all it will take is a game or two to bounce back, but the window of opportunity for the super bowl is very small in the NFL, considering injuries, free agents, etc. and that window may be gone next year for da bears. They were lucky to have all of their starters return from last year, which is unheard of in the NFL, but next year that's not likely going to be the case.

With the Cowboys surging, the Bears are no longer safe.
I'm not worried about the cowgirls. I think they are highly overrated. Bears will have home field advantage for sure

Rex's good games we're against bad teams and like 2-0-Sixx said many of his TD passes could of easily been picked off. But from here on out I don't expect him to throw more then 15 times a game.

It seems like the Bears are more worried about developing Grossman than winning games. I don't see why they don't put Griese in; all they need is someone who can manage the game without making stupid decisions, and he's more than capable of that. His veteranship alone would make the Bears' offense a lot more efficient.

I haven't heard anyone but sportscasters say that they should stick with Rex lol. I've been saying it since preseason, Griese fits the offense better. Look at how well he did in it, ya it's preseason but shit, he was unstoppable.
I think Lovie's just trying to get all the shittyness out of Rex's system before the playoffs. Hoping he's gonna figure everything out and get it fixed by the time it matters. Also our scheduele is easy enough right now where we don't really NEED to get Griese in, I have enough confidence in everyone but Rex that we can beat the Buc, Pack and Lions... As long as he doesn't fuck everything up.

Hopefully he can come through. I do kind of feel bad for the guy, getting bood at home before he ever took a snap could not of helped his confidence much.

I dunno, I'll put my trust in Lovie for now. But if he fucks up again on Monday night against the Rams, Lovie better bench his ass.

Benson was getting booed too, and he's finally stepping it up.
Gawd, Briggs is a beast lol.
Mike Anderson finally slowed down, but I'm still thuper excited about him, now we have 4 great DEs and if need be we can dump/trade in the offseason for some good stuff.
I'm thinking about getting a #23 jersey with "Heszumah" on the back haha. I'm glad Hester's such a stud so Azumah can be proud that his number went to the right place. I also think Rashied Davis can be a top 5 kickoff returner within the next couple of seasons.

Whats up with these fans today ...? So quick to turn on their own players...that shit probably really fucks with the players minds...like what happened with Rex...even Jeff Garcia was getting booed, in his 300+ yard 0 interception, winning game !

^^Chicago fans are used to booing the bears. I think they are a bit confused and think da bears are 2-10, not 10-2.

Philly fans, well, they are notorious for being nasty. That's just their nature.

Shit, so it sounds like Tommie Harris will likely be out for the season and may not return in the playoffs. This is a HUGE loss for the defense.

Since Mike Brown got injured (out for season), they have given up 50+ more rushing yards per game on defense...and he's a safety! With Harris out, shit, this is really going to hurt.
