before i got this, i had eyed it a buncha times, but never decided to pick it up. i finally had heard enough sick PSD verses on other rappers shit, and i copped it. i am reviewing it while listening to it for the first time, so i havent soaked it all the way.
1. Nasty Boy
Produced By: Phil Armstrong for Backstreet Prod.
-the beat on this shit is kinda weak, im not really feelin it. the song is about fucking (obviously), and throughout the whole song there is this bitch talking in the background and it is fuckin annoying. bad song to start this shit out, in my opinion. PSD spits pretty coo i guess, not really feelin the concept of this song.
4.5/10
2. My Business
Produced By: Lev Berlak & Will Hankins for "The Grill"
-the beat on this one is much better then the first one, its got some instruments in it that you never really hear in rap beats. definatly a tight beat. PSD spits way tighter on this shit then he did on 'Nasty Boy'. Only thing im not really feelin is the chorus, its some dude singin, and he sounds bad at parts. pretty coo song tho.
7.0/10
3. Interlude
Produced By: E. Lee for Earthquake and E. Lee Productions
-this one is just a phone call.
4. Shitchyeah ft. Dubee
Produced By: E.Lee for Earthquake and E.Lee Productions
-beat on this is alright, kinda low quality sounding almost. PSD starts off wit a cool verse, then Dubee on the chorus. 'alcoholic, usin music as a scapegoat.'
6.5/10
5. Golden State ft. E-40
Produced By: Studio Tone
-40 Wata starts off wit a little singin about the 707, then the beat kicks in. This is the knock so far, beat is tight, somethin you could play in a club or in your car. PSD wit the first verse, and its pretty cool, then they both hit up the chorus. E-40 rips this shit up! definatly a hard ass E-40 verse.
8.0/10
6. Puff It
Produced By: Lev Berlak & Will Hankins for "The Grill"
-Beat on this is definatly good for a smoking song. its laid back, wit a little piano in it. PSD spits about bud (duh) and everything about it. chorus is pretty coo on this too. good smoking song.
7.0/10
7. All I Want
Produced By: Phil Armstong
-dope beat! really sick shit, has a mobb feel to it, but it is slowed down. starts out wit some1 singin, then PSD spits to it. his first verse is one of his tightest so far on this shit. chorus is singin too. this shit knocks.
8.5/10
8. Streets or Rap Game ft. Keak the Sneak
Produced By: Phil Armstrong
-this beat is pretty chill, not the best one on here but better then a lot of them. PSD starts off like usual wit a cool verse. Keak on the chorus, then he spits. im kinda biased, cuz i dont like Keak, but i think his verse is weak. thats just me.
6.5/10
9. Shiesty
Produced By: Mike Mosely
-on the CD case it says this is supposed to be #10, but it is really #9. Mosely comes wit a sick ass beat for this shit. really laid back and chill, somethin you could smoke a blunt too. PSD's voice goes great wit the beat. im feelin this shit, its tight. talks about slangin yay and shit like that.
8.0/10
10. Fast Way ft. San Quinn and Mac Dre
Produced By: Lev Berlak and Will Berlak for The Grill
-cool ass beat on this one. totally different instruments but they come together nice. PSD goes first and he's coo.. definatly growin on me at this point. San Quinn is on the chorus, then his verse. His verse is coo as fuck, but not the best Quinn verse ever. Mac Dre's verse is fuckin sick! 'peep the difference, between me and him/ i get it from a bitch/ he get it from an ATM' Mac Dre is shittin on all of them wit just that line.
8.0/10
11. I Want That Thang
Produced By: D. Bone
-beat is kinda funky on this, but its cool. PSD spits cool, and the chorus has some cool singing on it. not much to say about this shit. but it isnt bad. really chill song to smoke too.
7.5/10
12. Pink Part ft. Mac Mall
Produced By: Studio Tone
-this beat is kinda on the futuristic side, but it is fuckin tight. i think the only thing it needs to lose is those strings that kick in about 15 seconds into it. PSD spits first and hes cool, this shit is about hoes and shit like that. Mac Mall is pretty dope on this shit.
7.0/10
13. Some Thangs ft. Dubee
Produced By: Phil Armstrong
-beat on this is another tight one. good production on this. PSD starts off wit a tight line 'as much as i want it, i dont need it/ money over cleavage'. Dubee is next, wit a cool verse like only Dubee can lay it down. coo track.
8.0/10
14. Callin Me (The Green Room) ft. Vital
Produced By: Phil Armstrong
-the beat on this is kinda coo. starts out wit some singin, then PSD spits a tight verse. Vital is next, i've never heard him i dont think, but hes pretty tight. got a different voice and a coo flow to his shit.
7.0/10
15. When Them People Want You
Produced By: Phil Armstrong
-really laid back beat, im feelin this shit. this is the best Phil Armstong track on the whole album in my opinion. this one is talkin about jail and hard times. i really like this shit cuz it isnt just the fuckin hoes, goin to clubs, smokin bomb shit that PSD is usually spittin. im feelin this shit.
8.5/10
to break it down, PSD is talented. He can spit, i just dont think he shows it as much as he could. you have tracks like 'When Them People Want You' which really show his lyrical ability. if he had more tracks like that on here, i would give it a higher rating. i have a feeling this will really grow on me. the production is really good on this shit too.
