LAS VEGAS And you thought your relatives were a handful.

Las Vegas city officials, boosters and residents are braced to entertain 300,000 out-of-town guests for a New Year's blowout.

On the agenda this year is a scheme to break the Guinness world record for the largest simultaneous toast. City officials say they're expecting 13,000 people to raise a glass at 11:40 to toast the New Year.

The Clark County Fire Department officials will be watching the skies for rain and wind, both of which could extinguish the fireworks display.

The show costs nearly 500,000 dollars and is the biggest New Year's fireworks display on earth, according to the show's producers.

40,000 devices are set to be launched from 10 rooftops locations at midnight.
