Hard Drive Failure:

Does anyone have any hard drive recovery software that I can download. I have a dead drive with a lot of music i need to recover. I know there are apps out there, but I dont have any currently

please help

You can use a Live Linux disc. The entire operating system runs from CD Rom. I use Back|Track

Go to the download page here:

grab the .iso . after you download it, burn the .iso to a CD ROM . Set the bios on the computer to boot from CD Rom and the OS will start. You should be able to see and retrieve your files from your HD, but really depends on what kind of damage has been done to it. If it's just a crash you are in luck...if it's a physical problem with the drive...then you fucked. Have a USB flash drive handy so you can transfer your files. OR....you can pay me to do it :) You do live in Dago now right?
