"Religulous" by Bill Maher

Well in the last 5-10 minutes he talks about how we need to get rid of all religion. He talks about how he is so sure that religion is going to ruin the world. He seems so sure, i thought the whole message from Bill Maher was that he was selling uncertainty and no one is sure what happens after death.

Come on religion has done a lot of good too. Look at hurricane katrina, the u.s government dropped the ball. A lot of churches helped out those victims.

People helped the victims. Last I checked a church was a building.

Also if you mean the "Christian Church" when saying churches are you implying only Christians helped the victims? No other religious groups? No other non religious organizations?

Anyways, as the biggest organized religion in the United States I would surely hope Christian Churches would help out the victims.

But those churches provided the organization to help the victims. In my hometown all homeless people have the chance to eat three meals a day due to churches existing. The government doesn't provide it like the church does.

Every single aspect of every religion is not bad. I don't think Bill Maher would disagree. There are valuable lessons to be taken from it, just as there is nice actions churches have taken. But, how about the dozens of teens i know in suburban minnesota here that have gone on church retreats to middle america and spread the word of god while providing relief? Benevolent actions could still take place with out that lilttle hook and sinker move of spreading religion.

After me and my 3 friends didn't want to drive after drinking, parked in a secluded part of a church parking lot and slept for a few hours, cops woke us up. We almost got a minor etc. etc. but i was amazed to find out someone in the building noticed us and called the police right off lol. I mean we were asleep in a car and callin the cops? lol really? not gonna approach us or wake us up, just call the cops like we have done something horribly wrong? idk made me laugh even harder when i realized my friends went to that church...
