My mind is too sick. That's why I don't need religion. Religion thinks for those that can't think for themselves. It's the greatest mind manipulating tool ever created. It gets it's strength through the force of pack mentality.

it was ok. too preachee. i like documentaries that just show shit as it is and leave it up to the viewer to decide. show both sides. he could of gotten more intellectual people of faith to defend the other side...rather than the people in the movie which by comparison made him seem so much more logical and intelligent.

those last 10 minutes of him directly telling the viewer what the "right" opinion to have was ironically dogmatic

some religions sole purpose is to teach the individual to think deeply for themselves...find themselves

Sure he interviewed some pretty stupid religious people, but I think his intentions were to show that most religious people think in those stupid ways.

But those teachings come from someone else's thoughts. I believe spiritual thoughts should come from yourself and no one else. Life experience gives you that ability.

I don't need religion to tell me how to think deeply for myself. As an intelligent human being, I should already know that.

The weaker minds flock to religion for guidance.

i hear ya. but life experience also includes encountering words of wisdom from people who lived long before you and what you decide to do with those words. in the end you think deeply for yourself but theres nothing wrong with taking in wise words from the past to help you form your path

I just watched it last night. My favorite was the priest he interviewed right outside the Vatican. Bill Maher brought up all these things that Catholics believe and the guy dismissed a bunch of them as bullshit. I also liked how he was thrown off the Mormon temple property, pissed off the guy who ran the Islam mosque because he was there, and pissed off the public relations lady at that Bible tourist destination in Florida for being there.

This movie is only going to piss people off who don't understand what they believe and can't answer simple questions about their faith. It will piss off people who take the Bible literally word for word. If you believe the Earth is 5,000 years old and don't believe in evolution, you're an idiot.
