And how long ago was Sayers? How many good running backs were in that time?

If you want to compare old stats to new player stats, the new players will almost always have better stats!

Take out TD's 3 best years and you have 4 years 2311 yards...very pedestrian #'s

also look at sayer's numbers compared to his counterparts of then and he was a good running back, but if you try to translate those same nubers to know he would be a 2nd or 3rd stringer...apples & oranges.

I will say this 1 more time...I hope TD makes it, but don't be surprised if he doesn't!

So was Chris Warren a HOF running back? Nope, but since you want to compare #'s here is a 7 year stretch (same amount of years as Davis & Sayers) 6973 yards & 47 td's

Should he be in the hall?

Warren was a monster....
oh dude I agree I grew up watching him play against the Broncos in the AFC West. But you do see the point I was making...lol

Why do you think I brought him up? Not many people pull that random player out of nowhere...lol

Warren was fun to watch...and he was a descent back....and i agree with the Terrell Davis thing....these days there are alot of 1000 yd rushers...its nothin like it was even in the 90's....now its about 1500 yds in a season....

I think all the HOF's in professional sports are too leniant...MLB more than any others....but the NFL HOF seems much pickier....

Thank you T-Dubb... and to those of you who mention Warren... what has Warren won? Any superbowls? Any MVP's? Did he ever hit the 2000 yard mark in a season? Any records he broke or currently holds? I am not saying Warren wasn't a good running back but to compare Warren and Davis is silly.

When Davis was healthy only Barry Sanders could compete. Other than that, nobody could fuck with Terrell Davis. Just Barry could! Warren was pretty good don't get me wrong, but come on now.... what did Warren do in the playoffs? In the SuperBowls? How many rings does Warren have? How many MVP's or 2000 yard seasons does he have? Any records? See the point?

And Terrell Davis will make it into the hall of fame! If he doesn't then fuck who ever doesn't vote him in on the first ballot. He has accomplished too much not to make it into the hall of fame.

First of all...Warren aplyed on a shitty team..how can one man bethe outcome of a whole season(s)?Cut the crap...

2nd of all...if Terrell was only in the league for 7 years...and had 7600 yards...and had one 2000 yard season....that means that over a course of 6 years...he only had 5600 yards...thats LESS than 1000 yds a year...

So one good year=HOF for you???Wow...thats not ignorant at all....

Terrell had more than one great year. His numbers increased every year until he got injured. Cut the crap man. Just look at his credentials. They speak for themselves. What other running back has the credentials that TD has? Now remember.... two superbowl rings, SuperBowl MVP, regular season MVP, and a 2000 yard season. And didn't he score like 3 rushing TD's in that SuperBowl against Green Bay (with Reggie White, RIP)? Isn't that a record also? Even Emmitt Smith didn't score 3 rushing TD's in a SuperBowl.

It doesn't matter how long he played. Look at his accomplishments!

Like i said...its not Warren's fault he had a shitty team...so thats irrelevent....there are ALOT of players in the HOF that have little to NO post-season experience...Barry Sanders being one of them...

My point is....7600/7=1085 yds a year....not great....and like scary1 said...he had 3 good years...the other 4 were mediocre...

3 good years DO NOT...i repeat...DO NOT....give yo a HOF bid...

Who needs to cut the crap?

TONY!!!

Mvp and super bowl wins are what QB'S IN NOT RB'S....Stats get RB'S in.

TD was only productive half his career. Was he hurt the last 3 years, yes he was BUT THAT DOESN'T MATTER. WHta matter is stats, and stast wise you don't have but 4 good year for TD.

Again you can mention all the things you do, but when you do that please don't forgt to mention Elway, Sharpe, Rod Smith, Griffith, McCaffery, Zimmerman, Nalen, etc......TD had an AWESOME CAST. Sayers, Martin, Warren, maybe only had 1 or 2 other players that demanded attention.

That is what made Barry Sanders the best ever. He was the Lions. He was constantly getting lineman in his face behind the line of scrimmage but would turn nothing into something...TD didn't do that. TD had huge holes and a few juke moves but for the most part the cast helped TD out tremendously.

Also Again....if TD was so great why did Mike Anderson, Olandis Gary, and Rueben Droughns do almost as good?????? THE SYSTEM!!!!!

Now you can say well they never won MVP'S, SUPER BOWLS, whatever, but guess what....they never had Elway, Zimmerman, McCaffery, Sharpe, Griffith.

And guess what since Barry left the lions how many backs do you remember? James stewart was thier best and he wasn't anything special at all.....weere as Broncos have a back you all know every year.

THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE!!!!!

^It's not over.... Elway, Zimmerman, McCaffery all benefited from Terrell's legs. Without Davis, they wouldn't have won a superbowl.

And those running backs you mentioned Anderson, Gary, and Droughns.... did any of them come close to matching Davis' stats? Sure they got a 1,000 yards. But did they win any superbowls? By your theory, they should have won superbowls since it was so much about the system. Davis shits on all of them running backs.

They did win because they didn't have the cast TD had...shit I guess Griese and Ferrotte are just as good as Elway right? Is Foster just as good as zimmerman? not quite...YET THEY GOT THE YARDS!!!

How about who holds the rookie record for yards in a game...who that be Anderson???? hmmm not davis

How about TD had all that stuff BEFORE everyone knew it was the system...Would you look at TD the same if Gary, Droughns and Anderson came before him? No you would look at him like we all look at the others.

Noone is calling Anderson (who for some reason in DEnver was awesome but is 3rd string in BALTIMORE??????) AS A GREAT BACK, but in Denver's SYETEM, he was great.

So Tony why is it That Olandis was great here, he goes to Detroit and Buffalo and gets cut? Why is it Anderson goes to Baltimore and is all of a sudden 3rd string? THE SYSTEM!!!!!!! The same system that was implemented when TD had his years!

And what you mention above is BULLSHIT!!!! Without Elway TD doesn't win a ring...It goes both ways. Without Zimmerman there would be no holes to run through...without Sharpe, Smith and MCaffery there would have been stacked box with no holes....watch the damn game before you comment on something like this.

Tahts why Anderson doesn't have a ring...his QB was Griese with te's by the name of Putzier, Clark, and noname linemen.... Do me a favor name the broncos fullbakcs and 2nd & 3rd wr's after the super bowl era's??? YOU CAN'T BECAUSE THEY SUCKED....Yet Sharpe and zimmerman will be HOF bound, Elway is in HOF and griffith was one of the best fullbacks ever!
