and...

without Reggie Bush the Atlanta defense wouldn't of gave 2 shits about a double reverse. But since it was given to Reggie Bush the entire defense flowed that way and opened up the reverse the other way. He isn't a everydown back, but he is a playmaker that is so dangerous he opens lanes for other people.

Like I said....people have been comparing him to Sanders, LT, etc.....

So I pulled the stats for Barry, LT, and Caddilac Williams for thier first 3 games in thier rookie years

Barry----254 yards 3 td
LT-------310 YARDS 5 TDS
Caddy----434 yards 3 tds
Bush-----125 yards 0 td's

So you tell me has he lived up to the hype? Now I will give you...IT IS WAY TO EARLY TO BE ASKING THIS QUESTION!

But it was asked and I answered as of right now.

You can say he's a rookie, but if you want to be compared to the best you should put up numbers like the best.

Barry, LT, and Caddy wasn't sharing downs with a franchise running back so get your facts straight before you try to hate. Like I said, he doing what he's suppose to do and thats why his team is 3-0 so far.

you can make excuses now but when he was coming out in the draft everybody predicted 2000 yards and 80 tds his first season

HE IS NOT LIVING UP TO THE HYPE
on the other hand he is fitting in nicely with deuce and the whole offense down there. but as a single back he wouldnt ever be a walter payton or barry sanders. NEVER

he is better compared to desmond howard or rocket ismail

used as a decoy and part of a 2 back system or a wr he is dangerous but he will NEVER BE what he was hyped to be. HE WAS HYPED TO BE A COMBO OF BARRY SANDERS WALTER PAYTON AND GALE SAYERS. IM SORRY BUT HE WONT REACH THAT STATUS. i would love to have him on my team though.

Thank You, this is what I was trying to stress! I never said he wasn't a good compliment to what they currently have, but I answered the question so far as he lived up to the hype...NO. I have already said maybe in a year or 2 he will, but right now when the question is asked...NO.

I could give to shits about him being a decoy...they are paying him to be the playmaker to SCORE!!!! He hasn't did that yet. His best moves in the NFL have came in preseason against scrubs. So far against starters he has proved to be average.

Like I said he isn't doin anything Marion Barber, Michael Turner, Mike Bell, etc..have been told to do, and he isn't doing it much better.

Just like Vick was supposed to be the qb of the future.....well 5 years later we are still waiting for him to break out.

I agree.

I will say yes he will be good for years to come, but to live up to the status they put on the kid...NO

I mean he could be Curtis Martin good (steady big yard seasons) and they got the steal of the draft, but he will not be emmitt, barry, walter, etc...

It's only week 4, he still have 13 games to play. How about waiting until then to ask if he lived up to the hype? I swear, it's like niggas can't live without trying to find something negitive to point out about someone.

Sad but true, people would rather see someone fail then succeed.

If you read my posts you would see I agree it's waay to early to ask this question, but it was asked and I answered as of right now. It's not like I am a bush hater or anything, I could care less if he is a bust or the best player ever, I was giving my opinion to the question based off of what I have seen of him after 3 games.

whoa homie! you mean this draft or that draft with Martin? cuz we got the steal of the draft with Davis in 95 was it?

Bush could still be like Emmitt, all the saints have to do is really beef up thier line

Read what I wrote in parentheses....Curtis was the model of consistency and posted huge numbers with tds EVERY year. He never had TD, BARRY, EMMITT #'s but he was always right there with them and has been underrated his whole career. So I am saying if Bush can just be consistent with good numbers like Curtis was he is still the steal of the draft withouy posting 2000 yards etc....

TD was a great back for 3 years, Curtis was a great back for 8+ who is the better back? Hard to tell but I will tell you Curtis has a better chance at HOF than Davis due to years AND consistency

Terrell Davis shits on Curtis Martin... all day. I would vote for Terrell going in before Curtis Martin. I know Martin had hella consecutive years rushing for over 1,000 yards but Terrell Davis accomplished so much in so little time. You have running backs in the hall of fame right now that don't have what Davis' has accomplished. (SuperBowl MVP, Regular season MVP, 2000 yards rushing, an NFL record with 9 straight playoff games with over 100 yards rushing, 2 SuperBowl rings)

all you wrote was over 3 years. In the Halls eyes you need more than 3 productive years to make it in.

Don't get me wrong I would LOVE to see TD get in because there is only Elway right now....which is a toal BS thing. What about Gradishar, Tom Jackson, Rick Upchurch, etc....

But I don't think they will let him in on first ballot like CMart will be.

And another thing going against TD is Olandis Gary, Mike Anderson, Rueben Droughns all these backs gained yards with Denver too, so is it system or back???? They will look at TD and say well in college he was just ok, so why all of a sudden was he a star in NFL....SYSTEM!

I hear you but what other running back has accomplished what Terrell Davis has? Tom Brady won 3 SuperBowls in a very short time and if his career was cut short by injury I am willing to bet you that he would be voted in on first ballot. He was drawing comparisons to Joe Montana after he won his second superbowl. It took them a while to vote Warren Moon into the hall of fame. Troy Aikman got in on first ballot and Warren Moon has waaay more yards than Aikman and played longer too. It's the same situation with Terrell versus Curtis Martin.

They can say Terrell Davis was a system back all they want to. In his short career he accomplished what every running back wants to accomplish. John Elway didn't win a SuperBowl until Davis lined up behind him.

You are preaching to the choir, but the difference between Brady and Davis is position, and longevity!

Brady has won more bowls, played more years and games and the QB ALWAYS gets the recognition when it comes to super bowl wins! For the running back position those types of accolades don't mean as much as they do to a QB.

A rb needs stats to get in more than wins and records, QB's needs wins and records...that's the difference.

Brady has all the qualifications needed per a QB, also...what else did he have on offense..he ran that team!

Where as TD had the awesome o-line including Zimmerman, he had Elway, Sharpe, Smith, McCaffery, a great fullback...he had all the tools needed to strive..that's what I am talking about!

Again I HOPE TO GOD he gets in, but longevity will hurt him.
