Fuck that teacher. I hate when teachers discourage students from doing what they feel is right or from turning in abstract work. Shit reminds me of the early 80's when my sister was going to north ridge. She filmed a vid of one of my brothers breakdancing and pop locking in sync with the music. She was telling him eventually dancing and music would be incorperated together and that choreography or however you spell it would take over. The teacher told her, "no that will never work".....

Now what do you see on the fuckin TV?

Pretty good tutorial and nice beat. I don't use Reason currently, though I did try it with version2. It's tight for what it is, but the thing I don't like about it is the piano roll, how you search for samples and the Redrum.

See, in FL Studio, the piano roll is very clean looking with nice constrast in color (Reason's looks typical like any other host, plain white, dull basic window's GUI style). To search for samples, you don't need to open up other windows, it can all integrated within the sample pallet browser if you set yourself up by making your own kits via folders and they automatically play with a single click. It's also all drag n drop, so for me it's a lot faster. And the Redrum rack, I honestly prefer the way you can build up drum kits with FL Studio's step sequencer by using the blocks, it's a lot more visual IMO by seeing when all your sounds will eventually be triggered as it's all on the screen. You can use the piano roll also obviously for drums, but for your basic shit, the step sequencer is quick. Not to mention, the way your recording is the same way I record in FL Studio, all by blocks and looped based. So I really don't understand why FL Studio gets so much criticism. VST support is another plus for FL Studio.

You ought to consider taking up art/finger painting. You always talk about the visual aspects of sequencing/ making beats. I thought people made music using their ears. I dont care what a program looks like, damn..it is how it sounds, and ease of use...I think you may feel lost with The Mpc3000 I use..it doesnt have no graphs when editing samples.

That's exactly what I'm talking about when it comes to "ease of use." It makes it EASIER for me. Quicker and more efficient. Makes me feel COMFORTABLE using the equipment. The sound is clean as well, same shit as Reason. Only difference is that Reason's factory sounds are better than FL's factory sounds. And as far as an MPC, I don't mind it, it shouldn't be flashy, it's hardware, it doesn't need a big ass 1080p resolution screen. I don't expect an MPC to be flashy. On the other hand, I expect software to be visually easy on the eye. Again, this is all my fucken opinion.

I can really work with this, easy as fuck, very easy to be precise:

This is eh:

I don't know man, but that shit don't really cut it for me. It's an eye sore. Makes me just want to stop.

I'm pretty sure you know how to get it.
lol yeah

i actually downloaded a screen recorder like that for the video part - but then i needed audio and i dont have a usb mic so i decided to record it with a camcorder. then i dont have a firewire IEEE port so i connected it to a DVD recorder and recorded the audio to a DVD then took the dvd audio and imported it into "sony vegas video" and imported the video from the screen recorder then tried to put it together. for some reason it wasnt working so i downloaded like 3 other video programs and ended up getting a virus. then i put it back in vegas video and got it to work and when i bounced the file out it was 100gb so there wasnt no way i was gonna be able to upload it to youtube so i had to download another program that compresses video and that shit took hella long then i had to split the file and some more shit it took HOURS - from the time i woke up till the time i went to sleep i was working on it pretty much

the piano roll is the only thing on reason i'd consider dull... but the rack portion is real nice imo

other than that i also think pro tools software isn't visually pleasing at all
