An Easter Bunny in South Jersey learned a hard lesson over the weekend about keeping all his eggs in one basket.
Police said a thief grabbed $500 on Sunday evening from a photo stand at the Burlington Center Mall where the Bunny had been posing with children for holiday pictures.
No weapon was displayed and no rabbit was injured.
An assistant manager, who doubles as the photographer, at the photo stand in the mall's center court, was counting out the afternoon's proceeds about 6:15 p.m. when a man snuck up from behind, grabbed the cash from the counter and fled, Burlington Township police.
"This is an isolated incident," said the mall's General Manager Christopher Speca. "We rarely have these kind of occurances here."
