maybe i need to listen to it more but i found the change in sound on the new warpaint to be more generic in the dream-pop sense. only a few tracks stuck out to me & most were a forgettable blur.

totally agree. they said a lot of their songs came about just by jamming and seeing what sticks. they tried to make it "sexy" too. i didn't hate it but it was kind of some middle of the mall shit

I thought it was boring because there was absolutely no deviation from the shit they were putting out 4 years ago. I'm all for sticking with your sound but don't put out the same album 3 times.
