Especially how the fight was going, one punch could turn the fight around (although I agree Vasquez would have likely finished him off).
It's one of those stoppages that I didn't like to see, especially in a fight like that, but I completely understand cuz dude was very wobbly and looked to be in big trouble. You got to put yourself in the Ref's shoes - he's probably worried about the fighters safety, and I'm sure he'd hate to see him get hurt badly, and then have to answer questions as to why he didn't stop the fight when the fighter was obviously hurt badly.
