You sound like arnold schwartzenegger with that Bullshit. And the reason salvadorians get in so easy is cause the USA feels sorry for them cause they stay getting killed and the Women are "NOT" Allowed to work in that Country. They aint giving no VISA's to mexicans... they hate MEXICO and always will because of the ALAMO.

REMEMBER THE ALAMO!!!!!!!!!!!
Women aren't allowed to work in El Salvador? Says who? And it's not just Salvadorians that get in easy, it's people that go through the proper channels. You know how many LEGAL immigrants I know, personally, from all over the globe? INCLUDING MEXICO!

I gotta attack the title of the thread/article

The idea that racism would not exist in California, or the notion that racism is not a factor the further west you go or at least in California is some really fucked up logic

QUESTION: How did this topic get turned into illegal aliens??? They are not getting the mandated wage anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!They are being exploited. This bill has nothing to do with them, if it were to pass they would still get a lower wage. That's why they hire them to take advantage of them.

and this has nothing to do with illegal immigration, if you fucktards actually had a brain you would realize that.
You're right...but some folks see "Farmworker" and think "Illegal Immigrant". From there it turns into a "racial" issue, as if "Illegal" is a race. Folks like to throw race and immigration in where they can, because a lot of people won't touch a "racial issue" with a 10 foot pole.

In vetoing the measure, Schwarzenegger cited the fragile economy and said that extending overtime protections could put farms out of business, or result in lower paychecks for agricultural workers because farmers would hire more people and cut hours to avoid paying overtime.

unfortunately, this measure, while well-intended, will not improve the lives of California's agricultural workers and instead will result in additional burdens on California businesses, increased unemployment and lower wages," Schwarzenegger wrote.

These two statements grossly contradict each other. The Governor was lobbied by the farming industry I wonder how much the kickback was?

82% of California SAS workers were born in Mexico, only 8% in the U.S.
53% of the foreign-born have resided in U.S. 10 years or longer
62% obtained legal status through the special agricultural worker (SAW) program
9% of interviewees are not eligible for employment in the U.S.
median age is 32; 25% are 24 or younger
74% are male
66% are married
60% live with one or more family members when in SAS work
of the 60% with children, 35% do not live with their children when in SAS work
91% are Hispanic

That's not our point, an institutional racism argument can be made if clarified because the majority of "LEGAL" farmworkers are Mexican. They veered from the argument by talking about illegals. They have nothing to do with this bill. Legal Mexican workers do!

I don't know about you, but I have a family...which comes with an obligation to keep a roof over our heads, food in our stomachs, and make sure we are healthy. So, "selfishly", I find it important to keep the money that I make (as much as I can) without taking care of somebody else's family.

THAT thought process has nothing to do with "mexicans", but has everything to do with people that abuse the system. That includes anybody that has babies to collect more money from welfare, lies about their income to get subsidized housing, and expects the government to take care of them because they REFUSE to do it on their own. This does NOT include people who are INCAPABLE, but people that are just plain selfish and expect handouts whenever possible.

Also, I've never said anything about Obama being black...I don't give a fuck if he's pink, purple, or green. I don't agree with him, just like I didn't agree with Bush. So YOU need to get over it. Race or ethnicity is not the issue here, it's what I BELIEVE to be right or wrong. If my uncle came her illegally from Italy and lived off the government, I'd tell him to get off his ass and do shit the correct way.
