R.I.P. Kyle Lone Wolf

My bro took his life last Thursday.

Saturday night me and some of my cousins were gathered to dress him in tradtional buckskin clothes. We sang tradtional songs & bathed his cold body with rose water to clean him up. This has been the 3rd time in my life were I dressed a brother & it is very hard. Especially knowing this is it there is no more.

After the viewing of the body we sang a few more songs then we pushed him in the incinerator.

Yesterday we had services for my bro where he grew up in the middle of the woods @ the ceromonial grounds where I go to have ceromony. We gathered & enjoyed our final day speaking upon his life & then spread his sister spread his ashes in an open meadow on the camp site.

**** Side note - For all of you who drink think about it do I truly need to drink. I have buried many aunts/uncles/brothers/ & sisters due to alcohol related incidents. I myself went off the deepend & been sober 10 months now & I happier that I don't have/use alcohol in my life anymore.

Death only sucks to those whom someone touched in their lives as paths are crossed. For those that have passed will be at peace. It was hard dealing with dressing him & pushing him in the incinerator but knowing that he is at peace now I am glad I done so for my bro. It hurts to let go but life does just that it comes and goes in all circumstances we grow as men/women.

To answer your question, if you have put 10 months into your sobriety, your bother would not want you to give it up on his behalf. Stick to the path you have been on. You probably need a clear head anyways right now to deal with things. Alcohol and drugs will only prolong what you need to feel.

While you have this great sobriety going, don't neglect to find some new hobbies to fill in that so-called "void" that now exists. Sports/Fitness, Entertainment, Starting a Small Business, Community College.....whatever you can find.

I was going down a bad road back in the day, but managed to jump back on track with my school. Ages 18-21 are the biggest partying years there are, and yet I managed to take a whole year off in there to get my shit together. One of the best decisions I ever made, bar none. (yeah, yeah, i know, oxymoron)
