Okay i have a question hoping someone out there in BARTlandia could help me out

I'm in the process of making our 4th CD with the Girls Unit at YGC, but would like to have it with Audio as well as Video.

I'm new at this, and usually for our CD duplications we go through Disk Faktory, but since this time i want to include Video on the same CD i was wondering how i would go about it, and who i should go through for duplication.

Tommorro i'm going to buy the Video Recorder for this project but am stuck wondering whether i should get the new DVD recorder or the regular Mini DV's...

i think if u want video on the same cd its gonna only be played on computerrs.....cause DVDs dont play in cd players, so the video gonna have to be a file playable on a comp only

Yeah, i knew that one...kind of how Roscoe's promotional CD was, and others that include videos...but what i'd like to know is if i should get the DVD recorder or the ones with Mini-dv's to go about this..what software to use for editing (i have Pinnacle Studio DV 7)
and who i should go through for distribution...

well if u gonna putit on a CD like a enhanced cd then dont go wit a DVD recorder...u connect ur camera to it and you have to put it on DVD...unless your gonna take the dvd and put the video into a file on ur comp or somethin

Might as well jus go wit a mini dv camera.....and a good software is Adobe Premier, or Final Cut pro if u on a mac...i use to use that shit at school, some pro shit

^^^ what he said....you would create an enhanced cd with director....all of our promo material comes in enhanced cd format with extra video and audio
the problems:
is it can only be played on a computer....
you have 2 encode the video and lay it out in director
you will have 2 have less than 74 min of audio around 60min cuz you need extra room for the video-->unless you want 2 pay for extended cds. (80min or 99min)
-->just ask your duplicator what are the rates for a enhanced cd or a mixed media cd....

or you can do a DVD
you would have 2 have a 2 disc cd one audio and the other the dvd-->edit the video-- encoded it and manufacture it....pop it in any dvd player.

get the mini dvd recorder cuz that shit is sik....straight 2 disc

editing software doesnt matter you have-->what ever you are familiar with is cool....the best is final cut pro, adobe premeire, and Avid (the best).
->the type of camera doesnt matter either since you have 2 upload it 2 a computer 2 edit it anyway....i would go with the mini dvd's since it acctually records 2 a dvd disc and it would be easier 2 transfer.--just pop it in2 the dvd drive.

the best way 2 create a enhanced cd is using director.....

i dont think that would matter because all it is is a cd-r in the end. i wouldnt see a problem they could run into in duplicating it because they're just taking your master and making copies of it. could be wrong though.

are you looking for duplication (usually under 500) or replication (over 500)

->we only do enhanced cds for our promo material so we press those up ourselves....we have access to a multi-burner tower, which we burn straight from a master. there is usually no problem but it does contain both audio and data a.k.a. mixed media/mix mode CD so a duplicator might trip.
->it doesnt take anything special, like c-march said you burn straight from a master....

im not sure for replicaiton since we've never done it pero im sure most manufactures can do them just let them know and they can fill you in on all the details-->i can get u a quote from the folx we go through if ur interested in replication
