how does someone get their rap name? is it something that you just pick, or should it be something that is chosen for you by someone else, like one of your boys or someone who's been in the game for a while? just wanna see what ya'll think, as i understand that it can happen any number of ways. what's yours, and how did you get it? just curious, and thought a little conversation might be a good change of pace.

Most people make up their own rap name, but it usually coincides with their rap style (Twista = tongue-twister). Some people just make up a random name they think sounds good and go with that (Jay-Z, LOL). Others get their names from their boys, maybe it's a nickname or just something a friend suggested (Tech N9NE got his name from his boys because they said he kept on spittin and at a fast pace, which a Tek 9 happens to be known for). Some people just use their own name or something that is a play on their real name (Ludacris, real name Cris). It all depends on the individual.
