There is a good chance that a nuclear war will result in chaos, but the opposite may actually be true. A medium to large scale nuclear war may wake us from our ape-like slumber and put us on the path to true greatness. One of my friends used to race motorcycles, that is, until he had a serious accident and almost died. Now he doesn't race - how can he knowing what can happen when things go wrong? Such a war may result in a human-wide reaction similar to this one.
while i wish to share your optimism, my friend, please understand why i dont think this is likely. for example, was your friend pushed off the motorcycle by somebody? did some other person throw something at him while riding to send him off? my point is that most people who leave an automobile accident with a new sense of responsibility for their own safety usually do so because the accident was caused by their own irresponsibilty. if he were to crash because another racer slammed into him, im sure his first reaction would be more directed in seeking revenge on that racer, not necessarily to change the way he lived his life.
my point is that if a country were to accidently nuke itself, killing its own people and suffering the consequences of its own actions, im sure it would realize the need to cease such behavior. however, if a country is nuked by another country, history has proven their first reaction will almost always be to seek revenge and counter-attack.
imagine if russia or china or iran were to be the first to send a nuke out and use it on the united states. say this happened tomorrow. do you think this would cause the american people and the american government to look inwards and realize that they should no longer be a violent nation? i believe that day, provided he was alive, ol dubya would probobly get on a podium and declare some new war and subsequently send a nuke back at the culprit.

that is my skepticism, however, i will never lose all hope in the power of love and peace. im just starting to lose hope in mankind's ability to find that hope within themselves, as well.

this reply that has turned into a rant is pretty long, but only because of the many things that i have thought of in the past that are all connected to this topic which is :

" My reasoning for why i believe our lifestyle plays a great role in achieving peace if it does, and why 9/11 happened when it did in 2001, which is also because of our status in society/lifestyle"

i think one of the major roles, is our lifestyle.
everything is constantly evolving and growing, including lifestyles, belief systems, and especially mindsets.
Humanitys ways of understanding, communicating, and uniting as one human race has tremendously risen in the 90s, especially the late 90s.

So the lifestyle of humans has evolved into a more mature, reasonable, lifestyle that has proven that all humans unite under One race, and all humans want to live a peaceful life in a peaceful world. Nobody wants to truely spread hate, some will tho when their belief systems are corrupt.
Things like skin color and nationality were becomming rejected as anything that needed acknowledgement or knowledge of, as humanity continued to unite under technological advancement and whatever came with it, such as music.
A good example of music is how black people are currently running the whole show, and the black lifestyle/clothing is currently "in" which has opened the minds of people of other races which in return proved that black people were only humans, just like them.
same thing goes for religion, only an open mind will ever become convinced and have the ability to understand the other point of view.
But currently this will never happen, too many closed minds dominate life.

But anyway, things like that, that has come with technological advancement such as the Internet which has connected the whole world together, including news, data, people, everything about any part of the world is online.
So, all of the ignorant things that humans couldnt see before , were now finally taking huge steps forward, simply because of the turning point of technology and the civilization, with the greatest help from the internet( i believe).
those things proved, to MY generation at least, that all humans are the same and, i dont believe i have ever known or met any racists or anythin like that in my class or school. (but the class 4 years above mine had a some issues, but only because of the arabs, who were the majority and full of pride who started a thing where arabs ran n controlled the school, and hatin the white kids, but only to impress their arabic buddies, and by the way, i will proudly say that i was the first arab kid in dearborn to break that cycle lol.
I was the first arab kid to liberty spike my hair, skateboard, have all white friends, listen to punk, which in return i had to put up with shit from the arabs such as "why you try to act white?" "why you skateboard bro, wallah bro" and stupid shit like that but it all ended soon after, when they began to accept me and my actions based on my personality and how i was cool with everybody and my constant good intentions for all.

i was in 7th grade on 911, and unfortunately back then i havent even matured or figured out what reality and life were about, let alone know how to react to something so new and completely foreign to my generation.

So, the one thing that has not evolved with humanity is their form of control AKA the government.
i think in less than 50 years, if 911 and all the terrorism bullshit never occured, that the people would have fully united, including religions if they continued to exist, and drugs would have become legalized, just as all of these things have been moving towards and the change is Inevitable (which makes me want to bring up religion, but the inevitable change explains the stance so no need).
other things leading to that is the advancement of science within Quantum Physics which is proving that the universe is too complex and alot of the things happening are only illusions and that we control how we see everything.

so i think 9/11 occured especially during 2001, because a few years later, humans would have known about the giant discoveries within quantum physics, and so many other benefits that will explain life and what it is the reason for our existance, and other things, and the humans would have completely and easily rejected the idea of War and understood that things such as skin color, nationality, religion, drugs, arent the reasons for hate and terrorism, but the individuals themselves that are, and the cure for that is to assist them in helping them understand truth about reality or the bigger picture, instead of some their current corrupt beliefs that cause hate and seperation.

shit tho, drugs never harmed me, i harmed myself by abusing the substance, and "terrorism" will never be defeated because it is only a noun and not a physical/mental thing that can be defeated, especially not by force.
Anybody can become a terrorist at anytime of their life for whatever reason, crazy or reasonable.
But i believe what i mentioned about humanity rejecting war and all this bullshit is partly because in dearborn michigan, where im from, the majority of the citizens are arabs.
And arabs, whites, and blacks were all united in my school and year by year were becomming more of a family.
We did have racial fights before where arabs would be like "FUCK U WHITEBOY" and push a white kid in the halls, but that was back in 98 n shit.
in 2003, all races cared for each other, n dated n partied together and did everything normal for humans to do, together.
So i believe people were finally opening their eyes up to the facts and to the truth year by year, each year a greater step forward than the last, and this threatened those wanting to control the world their ability to do so.

so what this means is that there are currently a few Generations that cannot make sense of the war, or terrorism, or why humanity even needs to resort to war simply because in their Day and Age as they grew up, life was completely perfect as countries were at peace with each other, world wars had passed by and the lessons or affects were taught and felt.
So this appeared as a new start for the advancement of humanity and advancement of Peace as it has constantly proven itself to be the Correct and most benefical way of resolving anything.
And that humanity is truely a loving society that cares for each other, all, completely in the same boat where they all want to go to heaven and will work on themselves to do so, all want peace, want friends, love music, DONT want enemies, DONT want sadness, DONT want hate/negativity, and DONT want hell.

this is the world that i was born into, only i was 13 years old when i had to adjust to 9/11 which is a pretty fucked up age to try and understand the world, because i totally believed it was osama behind the towers, i even wanted to join the marines and supported taking saddam out. Now as i sit here i look at my bedroom door and i see the Marines bumper sticker i had on there, kept only to remind me of the power of illusions of how Truth or Facts might only seem that way but that infact the mind does a great deal to make you believe something is true, even by molding your worldview, and your reactions to situations, such as the "BUSH/ANTIBUSH" conflict, with both sides having made up their minds and will come up with as many reasons and excuses as it takes to argue their stance.
my how 5 years can teach you alot of things.

6:33 AM, damn it, what a horrible time to go to sleep at.
o well night all

peace

yes, or maybe somethin like Russia taking out USAs nukes, since their spies could have already located the positions/locations of the bombs.

yup, i also believe that the power of love and peace will always be greater than hate, simply because Humans are naturally positive, joyful beings.
And about mankinds ability to find that out, hmm, according to the way i see things currently goin on right now mankind will need a big slap in the face before even acknowledging that change is needed and a different way of life is obtained.
especially with the seperation caused by the religions, with how they highly exploit mans vulnerabilty to closing off the mind to all the other beliefs which will stop them from understanding it.

But you know, humanity is finally waking up, i believe.
I think it is just part of the majority of the world that is holding the rest back. but my heads hurtin from too much typin n thinkin , so im gone

^^^ I'm not sure about "humanity is finally waking up", perhaps maybe slowly waking up, BUT, it's most likely that those who are politicans (the legit and good ones) are quickly waking up....

On the point, I read somewhere that Stephen Hawkings stated that, "if before the nuclear war starts, we must quickly find another planet to move in...."

So....I'm not sure, I mean, hell, hopefully there will be a way to visit another planet or discover instead of burning so much shitload of fuel and to use something else.

I mean, you know, about the nuclear......the U.S. has/had nuclear weapons that are larger and more deadly than Hiroshima as same with with U.S.S.R. (now Russia) that could kill everybody on Earth...thank fucking god both countries didn't go at nuclear war....it all was back in around detente and the cold war eras.

Now, today is 2006, and imagine what weapons the world's its superpowers has right now. (Iran probably bought some of more-than-nuclear weapons secretely from Russia, like SS-20 ones and others)
