Question for y'all.....

is the album cover NEEDED on promo flyers......

I've seen many flyers were no album cover is on it....

is it effective?

will the flyer grab your attention?

or does having the cover, help to keep an eye out for the album?

thoughts?!?!?!

Honestly I get so many flyers that I don't even look at most of em anyway.

If you put out flyers with one image on em, then someone wants it and goes to a record store and finds an album with another image on it, they might put it back and think they don't have your new one yet.

You should at least put a small picture of the cover on the flyer if you can.

What were doin at Illusive is on some projects..were making the album cd insert and the flyer one in the same.....We have stacks of inserts that are also part time flyers....we kill 2 birds with one crack rock like that.....Dont know if thats the info your lookin for but thats what were doin.

dont think it is a necessity but like you said as far as keeping an eye for the album...when you see that album in stores that you saw on a flyer,you are going to recognize it and maybe be more intrested than maybe you had. without the cover on a flyer i dont think it will stand out as much as you want it to,unless you plan on having another image

not to mention a cover can tell alot about the artist and what he is trying to do on an album,so if your cover catches their eye it will just get that much more intrest from them

thing is i wont get my album cover done until jan-feb, due to some factors......

i just think the artist name, and album name should be enough....maybe a picture of myself....

just looking to see what my BART folks think....it's all up in the air right now

If you already know what look or theme you are going for on your album cover do the same for your flyer same artistry /same font / same colors....with web site and other important info

Thats a good question, having the album cover on the flyer will help the consumer remember the cd when theyre in the store but if your album is delayed & doesnt come out till 6-7 months later then folks will probably lose interest in your project.

i think you should have the cover on the flyer to get people familiar with it so when they walk in the store the reconize it..........just put a different pic on the flip side
