How much do you pay for property tax? I'm in the process of buying a home and worried about it. Isn't it like 1% of how much u bought the house for?

It's 1% of your purchase price.

Purchase price $160,000

Property tax = $1,600/yr

Divided by 12 months = $133.33/mo on top of your mortgage and Home Owners Insurance.

We used to calculate it at 1.25% to cover local taxes and shit, cuz they always have hidden fees and supplemental taxes and shit you don't know about. and yeah, havfe them take a piece every month, so you dont have to come out of pocket twice a year.

but I've been out of the mortgage business for 2 years, so the percentages might have changed.
