Question for Portland Folks : What is North Portland and what is Northeast Portland?

Yeah the Portland people are very good at describing their city I've noticed, better than the Seattle people (mainly b/c I think it's smaller so they've lived closer to all these spots).



I know some about Portland from looking at some census data, census maps and the 3 or 4 times I've been there. But I want to know more.

Portland is not much smaller by population what 34k or so. The city of Portland is actually larger than the city of Seattle by what 50 sq miles. Seattle may have more people per sq mile but that only seems to make it more populated. Seattle Metro is much bigger than Portland Metro which seems to make city of Seattle bigger than city of Portland. What do I know I'm just some dumb Native......LOL.....j/k

Absolutely correct.

I should have made it clearer, I was referring to the metro area as opposed to the cities themselves when I said Seattle was bigger (Seattle metro = 3.5 million, Portland metro = 2 million, that's a big gap).

I'll try to rephrase a little better, I think the Portland people are a lot better at describing their city than the Seattle people b/c a greater percentage of the Portland people actually live inside the city limits than the Seattle people. I obviously don't have anything to prove this, it's just an impression I've gotten.

yea, gresham probably has the most tweakers/white trash of the metro area in my opinion. SE is a close second, just depends on how deep you go into the dirty south. I was just at the alibi a few weeks ago, thats North Portland right? ive lived here my whole life, and have never known the dividers of NE and North. Just burnside for NE/SE and the River for WEST/SOUTH....

vancouver / williams ave is basically the divider between north and north east. everyone be moving out towards 162nd and burnside on the boarder of p.o and gresham. p.o. is too expensive now
