alright so i know nothing about cameras and im looking to buy one, not a professional photography camera or anything, just a simple small digital camera for everyday use in the 150$ - 300$ range. my main thing is resolution, i want the highest resolution out of a lil pocket camera i can get and at first i thought the higher the mega pixel the higher the resolution but not sure thats why im asking you guys.. so basically my question is what do i look for when buying one?? or is there a certain camera you guys would suggest.. not worried about zoom or effects so much. thanks for any input you provide

you don't need no 12 megapixels or 20 megapixels, that's just for people who make really big prints, im talking like life sized or bigger.

Check out the canon powershot cameres and nikon coolpix, your local bestbuy should have em, bestbuy.com to check out the features and reviews/ratings.

I have great experiences with the Canon Powershot series. The A800 (I think) was the reason I switched to DSLR.

If you're gonna pay close to 400 for the S90 you might as well check out this cam.
