I know someone who was a forklift driver @ CostCo who dropped a pallet full of stuff got drug tested and failed for opiates. Lost his job for a year and a half and after fighting and fighting they gave him his job back.
This person smokes weed, drinks a lot and does pills a lot too. So I believe the info is correct that you only get tested if you fuck up, and especially if you fuck up driving a forklift. A report get's filed. I do not know if California law is different based on the medical marijuana laws as well. This was in Arizona.
