this ain't a graphic presentation here, but i've been looking for a good graphic artist job through a temp agency and most jobs have this as a requirement. DLing a "demo" right now and i was just wondering if there were any tips i should know as i get into this program? any tutorial sites?

Quark is a pretty powerful program, similar to Pagemaker or Indesign, if you know those then Quark will be easy.

i don't. this is my first venture into layouts. at least that's my impression of what the program's intended to do.

yes its for layouts not designing which is probably why novice or amateur designers probably stray away cause they think its for that purpose.
