How do I hook up my mpc 2000xl to Pro Tools Digi 001?


I want it set up through "the midi time clock"(i believe)

Basically i want to be able to press start on my mpc and as soon as i do that it starts recording in pro tools. I need to figure out
how i can seperate my instruments into different tracks.

if anyone can help it would be appreciated.

I think i tried doing that before the only thing is do i have to change the pre roll everytime or does it automatically set once i set it once????

just buy the 8 out card for your mpc and record 8 tracks at a time into pro tools.

yeah cause i got a proteus 2000 too. DOes anyone know how to set each midi channel to a different out put:?

I think it's on the main screen. Haven't used one in a while though so I'm not 100% sure but check the main screen first.

My bad man. I didn't actually read your original post, just the one above my reply. I thought you wanted to know how to set the midi channels on the Proteus.

Did that link solve your sync problems or do you still need some help?

Actually I ended up going home and had to run a bunch of earand so i didnt get a chance to do it. If I run into a problem though ill post it on the thread.

As far as the proteus i understand how to change the channels
but there is like 4 or 5 out puts on the back of my proteus

I was wondering if i might be able to have channel 1 come out of one ouput and channel 2 come out of a different out put?

Any ideas??
