practioners that influence your designs?
Sup everyone Im a web designer and Im wondering what practioners influence your designs?!
I read a rational design process document and it says "Designers make a long sequence of design decisions with no clear statement of why they do things the way they do. Their rational is rarely explained."
This being said I cannot explain the reason why I choose to design the way I do because I start with a blank canvas and try to create a website design thats suitable for the sites theme.
Right now im designing an online rap shop and when researching similar websites I take all of the designs and layouts into concideration so I can design a website with better functionality.
Im looking to find examples of practioners who have the same design and influences as I do.
The main source for my inspiration comes from album covers. The main company I know is Pen and Pixel doing no limit and cash money covers.. All of these covers show fame, money and power.
I also find album art that shows oppression influencial. An artists hardship and struggle that is being shown by the art and heard by the music is important. Suggestive art like a microphone being hung by a rope where the microphone represents a human. A representation that is used alot is money having human qualitys where blood is coming out the money.
I need to design a site which will be recognized, remembered and respected. I dont want some bling bling website..Maybe some bling hehe
Web design practioners would be companys that do jobs for the music industry either artists or stores. One company I found is sinful-designs. This is a portfolio site that shows alot of high profile rap web sites!
If you know any more practioners I should look at please let me know!
