Cam'ron is recuperating after being shot early Sunday morning in what appears to be a failed carjacking attempt, according to the rapper's representatives.

was shot around 2:10 a.m. Sunday morning (October 23) in Washington, D.C. However, police have refused to release any details or even confirm the shooting as of press time.

Cam'ron was driving away from the popular D.C. nightclub H2O in his blue Lamborghini when an unknown number of men tried to carjack him, according to the rapper's camp. They pulled up in their own vehicle and demanded Cam turn over his car.

When Cam'ron did not cooperate, they fired multiple shots inside the car, shattering glass and hitting Cam'ron once in each arm, according to his rep. The leader of the Diplomats was taken to a nearby hospital and is said to be resting and doing fine.

Cam'ron has generally avoided keeping a team of security guards around him. He can often be spotted in New York by himself or with a few friends, cruising in one of his vehicles, shopping or signing autographs.

The rapper was in D.C. participating in the festivities surrounding Howard University's homecoming this weekend. He's promoting his new movie and album, both called "Killa Season" and due in February.

This just proves further that certain individuals don't want to see another man rolling in something like that, and won't allow it. Sure it was a car jacking gone wrong, but jealousy definitely played a role in that attack. People don't want you to have that shit.

am i wrong or did i read that all the jackers wanted was just the car and that's it, and that cam didn't want to give it up and defended it and that being the reason for this to happen? or did i miss something. because yall making it seem like they wanted him or something.

A DIFFERENT WAY TO SEE CARJACKING

I’m not endorsing the below letter, but I definitely thought it was a stupid maneuver to try and carjack a person with a Lambo! You can't do anything, but get caught. So my boy, who is a reformed crook, hit me with an opinion from his vantage point.

Don't believe everything you hear about the Cam story. I stole and fenced cars and car parts since I was 12 years old --for over 25 years -- and nobody is going to carjack someone for a Lamb like Cam’ron was talking about. I do consulting for law enforcement and companies specializing in auto security now. It just doesn't go down like that. First, if you carjack someone in a Lamb, the police will be on your ass in seconds...not minutes...not hours...seconds....those cars are so exotic, they're impossible to hide unless you're working with people and have a place to stash it within a few blocks...second, the market for Lambs and their parts aren't that big, and nobody is gonna steal one in an armed robbery and try to fence it...nobody wants that kinda heat...why not just wait until the guy gets out of the car and steal it? That way, you won't have to deal with weapons or felony charges...your shit just gets bust back to joyriding...with these rappers, it seems getting shot is a ticket to making a million. Maybe that's what's going on.

I can’t call it, but I can appreciate that opinion, because a lot of people don’t really think critally about the matter. Anyway, best wishes to Killa Cam, because taking a bullet, is takin’ a bullet!
