what the fuck is a cr2 file and what do i need to open it and edit it in photoshop

EDIT: IT'S THE RAW FORMAT.

cr2 if thats what i think it is its a 3d file. poser uses those.

cr2 is also a canon raw file. Nikon uses nef and they can vary by manufacturer/software

cr2 files should open up automatically in photoshop..well thats what it does for me..

you need a plugin, you can download at www.adobe.com i use them too ... you need atleast photoshop cs2

Incase you can't find CS2 or later :

If you need to do any adjustments to raw files before going into PS look for a program called DxO Optics Pro. You can do all of your raw adjustments then export to the format of your choice then proceed to Edit in PS
