well since he is uncomparable because he's the Only God, it makes sense to Call him the Only Perfect since he was in existence before all things. I wouldn't call it so much, a comparative measurement, cause who can compare to One God, and the True God.
would it be wrong to call you a God, dickrider?

i think im perfect (not in no conceited way though), and i dont think sin affects our perfectness.
I absolutely agree.

its our nature. god made us this way. so why would we be punished for his doings?
I absolutely disagree.

First of all, although poor use of our will is within the parameters of having free will, I don't believe this misuse constitutes our nature.

Secondly, I don't believe that God made us this way, or even made us at all. We are eternal, spiritual beings who are part and parcel of the perfect God. When referring to our being "made", you are referring only to the body.

Perhaps the punishment is the illusion of suffering we have brought on to ourselves. I believe that our suffering is likened to a man who, during a dream, is in distress from seeing his own head cut off and mounted on the wall. When the same man awakens, he realizes the absurdity of seeing one's own head in another location.

exactly my point. he is the only one. to say that this strawberry im eating is the perfect strawberry is to say its taste, size, etc is better than all others. God is God. how can he be the perfect God if there is no seperate normal God for him to be better than.

hey stockton i got another lil story/question...

Someone once told me, when your dreaming and see or feel your teeth fall out, quickly put them back into your mouth to prevent someone you love from dying...

Ive had a dream like that before and i shoved all my teeth back in... so i saved someones life... would god credit me on that?

If God is perfect then everything he creates is perfect. Cut and dry. This statement both asks and aswers the same question.

Even with humans. Because humans are given free will, even in sin we are perfect because we are acting in accordance with the way we were created.

This however, begs the question; If everything God creates is perfect, and we were created by God, then we too are perfect, and everything we create must also be perfect. Thus everything, every object, every living organism, every spec of matter that makes up this universe is perfect. Tihs fuxing grmmar iz prfct.

My Muslim friend used to always say, who is greater than Allah, for Allah is the Greatest, that sounds more like Comparitve Measurement. But I see what you're saying.

well i think a God exists. but i also believe there is only one. so to say he is perfect means i would be comparing him to other Gods. perfection is a comparitive measurement. if theres only one how can it be perfect or unperfect, if he is the only one of his kind.

i think a better question is wether God is omnibenevolent or omnipotent.
The Supreme Absolute Truth is one. So if the God you believe exists at least theoretically constitutes this Supreme Absolute Truth, then other "Gods" are not at all comparable. I think the difficulty you are having is that you are considering one Supreme Being as sectarian from another Supreme Being. There is one Supreme being and I am herein stating that He/She is perfect. That is the given axiom. Our relative judgement on the matter of God's perfection should be discouraged since our relative judgement is incapable of grasping objective perfection. Therefore we simply accept that God is perfect given that He constitutes the Supreme Absolute Truth.

Anyway, back to my original statement: If a perfect God exists, then everything He/She creates is perfect.

We can say...

a) A perfect God exists

therefore

b) Everything He/She creates is perfect

Do you agree that b) follows from a)? If not, please explain.
