I got this from my uncle..... thought it was very insightful so I'm passing it onto BART..... no need to reply, just let it slide thru

I do agree that it's silly to name call.

But, I also stand firm that going to college doesn't make you any smarter than anyone else and not going to college/dropping out doesn't make you any stupider than anyone else.

Some of the smartest people I know never spent a day in college.

Good point Doxx....

Yeah that part of it is kind of overkill, the part of it that you can't deny is that most of these people in power have millitary experience and although there are plenty of smart people that didn't go to a day of school, it's hard to graduate from Harvard if you're an idiot. Plus it's their day to day job to be informed of whats going on. They have all the information....... before it gets to a reporter (who can report it how they want) to us on the 6 o clock news. I don't wanna get too crazy in here because I know everyone gets pissed off about "non-rap" posts, but there's too many people that think they know what's going on by just watching the news at night.

I support our leaders and troops 100%

Good shit, Pimperoni--that was VERY interesting and insightful!

I'll bet that most of the actors and actresses on that list wouldn't last a day if they were forced into ground combat themselves!
A good many of those people are grade-A flakes as far as human beings go:

Julia Roberts flits from man to man and won't stick with one--and gets all fussed up when people call her out on it. She's also a pain in the ass in interviews--she was once told a PEOPLE interviewer, "let's change the subject. this is boring." Let the interviewer be the judge of that! "Change the subject" my ass...
Another time, she accused a ROLLING STONE interviewer of asking "weird" questions, whatever that means...

Jeanne Garafolo was a regular on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE ('94/'95) and constantly bitched about how it was a "boy's club" and that all the writers cared about was "low-brow" farting and masturbation-type macho jokes. Which they often do, but WHAT THE HELL DID SHE EXPECT? This woman needs an orgasm or something to get rid of her misplaced rage...

Barbara Streisand--my aunt told me that this piece of work refused to be on Rosie O' Donnell's talk show unless the crew members switched the set, because she had to be seen from the left side of her face. Worse, O' Donnell and crew gave in!

Cher--more nose jobs than Michael Jackson (and what was she thinking when she did that horrible album with Gregg Allman?) 'Nuff said.

Alec Baldwin--made a stupid radio commercial around '95 urging people to give up meat for Valentine's Day ("you can kick the meat habit", he said). He (and ex-wife Kim Basinger) constantly bitched about circuses allegedly mistreating animals, and when someone called him on it, he got all threatening and was like, "come here and say that, you faggot, blah blah blah..." I guess freedom of speech doesn't go for those who disagree with him, uh?

Well, I could go on, but I'll stop. Like Doxx said, going to college and getting a degree doesn't necessarily make you any smarter than anyone else, and I agree. But I think the main lesson to be learned from this is that many of these celebrities are most likely only doing this for their own self-aggrandizement. Their goal is not to get people to change their minds about the war, but rather to get people to pay attention to THEM AS STARS. The article does a good job in showing that actors and actresses should be enjoyed for work IN THEIR FIELD, which is ACTING. They are hardly political spokespeople. PEACE!

I heard this from 560 KSFO about the educationof the actors. I check out that conservative statin because I like to hear what people are thinking. I like to get all sides, plus, I'm SICK of democrats treating my people like little stupid kids. Republicans aren't really much better, either. But dude on 560 "michael savage" KILLS me. It's hilarious. Plus, it always reminds me that there is no love lost out there.
I have surmised that this country is too broke, in a war, and has too much loss off life to be caring about the travails of the little man. People don't give a fuck because everybody has their own problems. Stock market crashed. Life savings gone. People have kids at war.... there is no sympathy for minorities. Believe that, Everybody is on their own right now. Your plan has to be precise, whether it's in music, education or whatever.

I look at that list of actors and gie them crdit for doin the DAMN thing. HIgh school degrees and they are pulling more money than most of us put together...PLUS Colin Powel and OCndoleeza rice. Give credit where credit is due.... but they do presume too much when they try to become ambassadors and dont know what the fuck they are talking about.

However........

Jesus: learned carpentry from pops Career: God's Son

Also, there are Congress men/women who have comparable college resumes (I assume) who are against the war. I'm not going to say that college means nothing, but it sure as hell doesn't mean everything.

I dont know about all of these people calling Bush a dumb ass and an idiot, although i dont care for him myself. In truth he is an educated man who was able to parlay his charismatic speaking ability into a political career, part of the reason he looks like a dumb hillbilly fuck is because he went from speaking from his own mind into reading speeches written by proffesional writers. A lot of people like to jump on the dumb ass bush bandwagon, and sometimes he is an ass, but he deserves an ounce of credit.
