blocking access to the mastercard website is pretty minor, if they could freeze the access to accounts or block credit transactions then mastercard would be affected.

so paypal, visa and master card all pulled their access to users who want to donate to wikileak. Because of this anaops or annonomys has waged a cyberwar against them, blocking access to their sites. They are able to do so by setting up bots that overload the servers from various computers running the bots around the world.

I doubt people will stop using the internet, because like I said, the attacks are minimal. All they are doing is blocking access to the websites that have little to do with transactions made using credit cards or banks. The websites are simply used just for information not transactions.

software is weak to the point that any skilled and sophisticated hacker can phis, spam, etc and ectract information from anyone.

information is the most important thing in this era, so much that we are in the "Information Age." if they can extract conversations from govt officials, they can get any information from joe shmo that they want.

smart phones are at large too

ppl finna go back to using the good old harmless house telephone and post mail.
