lol @ calling "I GOTT GRAPES" a classic weed anthem. I GOT FIVE ON IT = CLASSIC WEED ANTHEM. Scarface's MARY JANE = CLASSIC WEED ANTHEM. I GOT GRAPES = NOT CLASSIC ANYTHING. :)

In my opinion.

grapes did start appearing way more around the time that song came out - it created a good buzz on the purp
and alotta folks still on tha purp hard to this day
not sayin that "i gott grapes" is the reason why
but it did contribute
in my opinion
it gets my vote for a weed classic and also garcia vega by 11/5 gets my vote for another unmentioned weed classic

i got grapes = definite classic smoke song

"i got grapes" is a phrase in our lexicon forever now..
just like "i got 5 on it"
quit hatin..
I am referring to the actual song, not slang made more popular by the song.

Example: Soulja Boy- Swag On

And all of a sudden everyone's bragging about how much "swag" they got. So does that make it a classic song too???

I'm arguing music, you're arguing slang. BOTH songs are garbage (IMO) no matter how much impact they've had on popularizing a phrase.

"I Got Five On It" is clasic in a musical aspect. The beat, the sample, the lyrics, the delivery, the longevity and popularity of the song even 15 years later.

PS: I suspect you were referring to me with the "quit hatin" remark. How am I hating? Do explain, thanks! . :)
