Interesting.

Another stat worth mentioning is that every superbowl loser fails to make the playoffs the following year, with exception to Seattle (who still had a shitty year and snuck into the playoffs at 9-7) since 1999.

Chicago Bears (2006), Philadelphia Eagles (2005), Carolina Panthers (2004), Oakland Raiders (2003), St. Louis Rams (2002), New York Giants (2001) and Atlanta Falcons (1999) have all lost in the championship and failed to make the playoffs the next season.

Seems pretty unlikely that the Patriots wouldn't make the playoffs next year, but that's what I thought about da bears this year. All it takes is a few injuries in key positions and the season is over.

That's proof right there for the square ass busters who post in here! Stats are not everything! This is a great example of it, because only a handful of the QB's on that list have won Super Bowls. Thanks for posting that MooreBlock! You made a great point by stating some facts that will lace these Fantasy Football nerds' tennis shoes.....

No that stat actually is still standing, b/c it was Bill Levy's atrocious officiating crew that played a major role influencing the outcome of that Super Bowl, so when Pittsburgh didn't make the playoffs the following year (and Seattle did), that told you something....
