On the eve of last week's anniversary, it was the hugely controversial cover of a new CD that had me riveted. Sonic Jihad (out Sept. 23) is the latest from Oakland-based rapper Paris and the cover features a jetliner about to slam into The White House.

Listen to the last verse on that song LAY LOW, more shit like what Game Warden posted

Now even though I’m anti-pop, I still rise
And though it seem it ain’t gon’ stop - I still rise
Above this bullshit hip-hop - I still rise
Supply - wise words disguised in rhyme verse

I curse - what these niggas is sayin’ ain’t nothin’ real
Just fairy tales of pimpin’ these sistas and making mail
I see ‘em pose, see the bitchy roles they play
See these videos is shitty - see the way we portrayed

See these sellin’out acts that’s sellin’ out rap
Bleed wanna be macks with powerhouse tracks
Redefine black manhood - defy the lie we rise up
Fuck this bullshit - survival or die

See em thuggin’ niggas muggin with that criminal pout
See ‘em frown in every photo - see that shit in they mouth
See ‘em tatted lookin’ battered chasin’ pussy and weed
They making hookers outtas queens - every video feed

I see these labels sit back, push this shit like crack
Every record every act has gotcha thinkin’ it’s black
To act a fool chasin’ pussy like it’s hard to get
I see these crackas think it’s cool bein’ niggas for chips

I split jiggabo chins, analyze these trends
If it’s down to me and them I’m sendin’ flowers to kin
Ain’t nothin’ easy in this world - struggle makes the man
Don’t let these motherfuckas do you - understand the plan
and believe

"I see these crackas think it’s cool bein’ niggas for chips"

That right there is why I'll never bump this cats shit!! It's all fine and dandy if he's anti-government and what not, but to speak like that? Imagine if Eminem flipped that line and turned the words around, he would be labeled a racist!! Not only that but the statement is completely ignorant and has no depth to it whatsoever. He's talkin about how rappers portray shit and how it's not like that and they're twistin the shit up, but then he goes and says this makin himself no better than the next ignorant cat!!

What up man.
Paris was one of my favorites in the early nineties.
The last album I heard from him fell off though.
Haven't heard the new one but it sounds like he's back to his old self with those lyrics that got quoted here.
Remember that one album though, where he talks about weed and bitches, and 40s. I lost interest after that one. How could he have an album like that after everything he stood for.
He tried to come at us mainstream kinda. It was whack as fuck.
I know somebody knows the album I'm talkin' about.
Anybody remember?
