First of all...I never said they were the same. But...for Elway to come out and demand what he wanted to do before ever taking a snap was a bitch move. Would you agree with that? I would say that was worse than what T.O. did.
Owens never said he didn't want to go to Baltimore cause they won't pay. Feel free to prove me wrong, but that didn't happen. As a matter of fact...he had his deal done with Philly before he even got traded to Baltimore. All he had to was sign.
He wanted to go to the Eagles cause 1. he was a free agent, and 2. he wanted to "flourish"...same as Elway. Owens didn't like Gaycia...you think he was gonna like sorry as Boller?
They are not the same...but Elway, at that time, did show that me-first attitude.
I aGree he would have hated Boeller, but he didn't want to go there because they didn't want to give him the longterm BIG mney deal right away, where as Philly came in paid him a bit upfront then were going to try for a long term until he pulled another TO.
Was Elway selfish..yes, but it wasn't about money, it was about HIS JOB!!!! Elway was never a top paid qb even though he was always one of the top out there. in Indy he would never had the chance to becomce a top flight QB and he knew that.
Elway was more about the career and the longevity, where as TO is only about the upfront money and could care less if it's a 1 year or a 6 year contract as long as it is BIG MONEY!!!!
This is why he will not be in Denver. Bowlen and Shanny will only bring him in if he signs a lower term but high incentive contract...ths isn't what he wants. He will sign with the big money over anything and right now that sounds like it will be KC. But that affair will end when T-Gone and LJ get thier touches tasking away from TO.
Like you said the only way to know how this ends is to wait until he plays again, but based off of past history and also reading the words of his book straight from his mouth....it's all about TO and nothing else.
