You guys need to realize when someone says a rapper is overrated, it in no way at all implies they're a bad rapper. Dre and Pac are both very good rappers, but they are super over rated.

Well put. that being said........Pac is the best rapper ever. He may have been "corny" with the thug shit but as far as his ability to tell a story, take a weak ass beat and turn it into a great song, his emotion he has in his voice, his flow and his charisma, IMO makes him hands down the best rapper ever. I agree AEOM wasn't a political/social issue album, it was more personal. Just out of curiosity what did you think of The 7 day Theory?

OVERRATED:

1 Eminem, this dude is fucking shit. worst voice to liten to, sounds likea bitch and talks about shit that is not funny anymore.

2 50 cent, wow. Not 1 song he has made is good and he sounds like a slack jawed yokel.

3 Kanye west, pure garabge. dont know how people listen to his shit, but then again, hes mtv

4 lil wayne, another garabge wack rapper talking about nothing

5 snoop, after doggystole, everything from there was/is garbage.

6 all the new fad/dance craze/gimmick rappers, these dudes are a dime a dozen.


UNDERRATED:

Tech N9ne, probably the best flow of any rapper, very versatile and plain old good to listen to.

C Bo, because most of the world have not heard him, he is a beast on the mic. (new shit with young buck is shit though, sorry)

Twista, because of his old shit, its fire, and all the chicago rappers he made music with got talent, he went commercial in recent times, but he is a very good rapper.

Mos Def, he is rated highly, but not high enough imho, he is what most people need to listen to before they hear anything else, because he is the epitome of hip-hop.

Theres alot of others who can be on the list of underrated, but I think these stated are the most obvious.

That 7 day shit was iiight. Me & My Girlfriend is the cut.

I really think his production is what held him back. His ear for good production was terrible.

It may be... but I seen that album as Jive cashing in on his death with some tracks from the cutting room floor so I didn't buy it. I think everyone that exploited 2Pac after his death is what is killing his legacy, all the people who bought all the thrown together albums, remixes, mixtapes, etc. just because 2Pac was the "in thing" and everyone wanted to listen to him, even though they never were a fan before his death, then judge his work by the work of others and not the Studio Albums, but the Posthumous Albums that the labels were selling.
