I'm workin on a logo for an indie label here in kans I'm new to photoshop so bare with me and please don't hit me over the head with neg. feedback. I wanted it to have a dark feel to it. In the middle is kans turned counter clockewise, in the middle of that is prison bars and if u look closely it says 785, and yes it's all on a record... i know it needs more work just lookn for sum feedback so I kno what I should do to it...



Kriminul Wreckords also if ur turn it sideways u can see the state and K and S are highlighted

like i said it's my first time fuckin with p/s and I'm on a tight budget makin the studio and all so i tried to do it myself... I kno it needs work I would like feed as to what I should do with it, not no one word or one sentce lines talkin ish...

I'm tryna get a dark feel to the logo just didn't know how to come at it... while reppin ks i'm workin on other concepts like a scroll with a knife in the middle that has a bloodstain that looks like kansas

Okay, I'll give ya some constructive criticism then.

Don't make the logo so textured. Keep it a nice smooth simple design.

Use a different text, you cant read that one too well. And don't use that dark of a red on that dark of a background.

Just keep it simple, the more simple the better, you want a logo people will remember and recognize. If they cant even read what it says or make out what it is it will be easily forgettable.

And since your just starting, if you keep at it, you will improve a lot... trust me. Just start experimenting with all the tools, read some tuts, look up some logo inspiration and you will make one 100 x better than the one shown.


Also, what version of PS do you have??? You should defiantly update to CS3 if you haven't.

If you don't have the cash to shell out, Torrents are your friend. ;)

thanks bro and i'm using cs3 just started messin with it and I see where your comin from i wanna have a dark feel to it but i guess i over did it... i'm trying to avoid using something tooooo plain ya kno like initials etc. mabe i'll use KW with the K backwards and have the kansas in the text with Kriminal on the top and Wreckords below it iunno

Ok, so keep it black and change the font color.


It's not like I haven't seen record companies with record logo's that aren't black, though.

You'd have to be inept to not notice it's a record just by the lack of black coloring.

there is an art forum for feedback.

this logo needs work.

are you doing in 300 dpi. doesnt look like it. also the maroon font really needs to go. I dont even get the design or concpet. I think you are making it too complex. I think you should change the font as well.

Im not feelin how you took a pic of a record and added a really bad filter to it as well.

keep it simple man.
