PITTSBURG -- One person was killed and two others were injured in Pittsburg Saturday night during a large fight police believe was gang-related, Pittsburg police Lt. Brian Addington said.

At about 10:55 p.m. a person flagged a patrol officer down and told him that there was a large fight going on in the area of West Leland Road and Railroad Avenue.

When the officer arrived, he saw a crowd of people fighting in the street. The crowd started to break up when they saw the police car, Addington said.

Officers located three victims a short distance from the fight.

Adolpho Guitron Jr., a 23-year-old Pittsburg resident, had been stabbed multiple times in the chest, according to the Contra Costa County coroner's office.

He was transported to Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch where he died, Addington said.

Guitron's father, a 51-year-old Pittsburg resident, was treated at Kaiser hospital for a laceration and released, Addington said.

The third victim, a 22-year-old man who claimed to be Guitron's cousin, was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he was treated for several non-life-threatening stab wounds.

Police believe that the fight broke out when a group of people drove by in a couple of vehicles and started yelling gang slurs at a group of people on the street, Addington said.

Investigators estimate that over 50 people were in the street watching about 10 to 15 of them fight each other.

Police found rocks, broom handles, baseball bats, bricks and broken bottles at the scene, which they believe people used as weapons during the fight.

No arrests have been made in connection with the fight or Guitron's death, Addington said.
