U & Dat hasn't skyrocketed his sales yet.... where's everyone at?

And I swear... everyone has a ton of excuses as to why 40 hasn't sold more... maybe it's b/c hyphy ain't great to niggas outside the bay.

I hear exactly what you're saying. But, the reason why The Bay/40 has been getting the attention from mainstream media is because its a 'new' sound to those outside of The Bay, and even new to some people here...

The sound on his last 3 albums wouldn't have done any better now than they did then, so thats why they felt like they had to sort of re-invent the sound, to something more appealing to the masses, which at the current moment happened to be uptempo club music...

Just my .02
true! it did open the door for mtv and bet and all the other media outlets. So there's some positive stuff with this hyphy sound.......

How do you figure 40 is just starting he has been in da game atleast 10 years strong. If the album ain't selling it ain't seeling simple as that

Is true as that is E-40 wasn't well know outside of a certain region in th US. I stay in ATL and alotta cats are just now figuring out who E-40 is , especially the younger hiphop head 14-21. When forty was doing his thing back n the mid and early 90's these cats was too young. Cube has been in the mix with movies , so even though he hasn't put out #1 single they know who he is through movies at least. Also mad prop to 40 for rippen it at Birthday bash this weekend in the A, I was surprise that the A has so much love for him when he hit the stage. He gotta a lot of love from the audience. The Dogg Pound actually got booed during there set until Snoop step in to save em

I didnt say as an artist...but as a mass artist...yes. He has never sold this many records on a national level. That is what Im talking about...Mass. Not just the bay or a few other places. Im talking about pushing units in a bigger market. Hes all over BET/MTV...

bottom line...40 shit just aint all that dope....
tell me when to go is dope....u and dat is alright
but Grit and Grind was way doper than this album..
im a 40 fan..and a cube fan...we all know cube has quadruple the fans 40 has...it has nothin to do with popularity...its about your album...and its about the way music is consumed today....the INTERNET...
u cant tell me 90% of people didnt walk up to o.g. bootleg and cop that 40 and cube for 10 bucks for both...rather than walk into tower and end up spendin 36 bucks...my 12 cents....
i can go on limewire right now and download both my albums for free..
along with 40s,cubes.mobb deeps..so on and so forth
thats why u see niggas steppin that I-net game up..with free downloads...internet versions of the album..and real albums on the shelf...the industry is by far the same as it was 10 years ago....thats just what it is..

yup yup, the rap game has to evolve and get better. rappers who are cryin about bootleggin is hurt them, then do something original to get your sales up. do some special internet only releases that are different then your in store product, learn how to promote on the net better or something becuase if you just sit back and complain, nothings going to get better untill you do something.
