Far from a one-hit wonder, Keak has been putting it down on the local rap scene since the mid-90s with his comrades in rhyme, 3x Krazy. After the group broke up, with BA going to the Federal Concentration Camp and Agerman turning into a Pastor, Keak was forced out here to fend for himself and grow as a solo artist. That's what he did, and in the new millennium he has definitely been the artist who has been keeping East Oakland and the Bay on his back and chest. Due to some legal problems, Keak can't drop his new highly anticipated album "Kunta Kente", so he started work on his camp's new album "Dope Game 2".

Youth Outlook: WHATS UP WITH YOU?
Keak: Hello! I'm back baby, I aint never left. I'm here to stay. I ain't going nowhere. So holla at a player. We're getting to the root of it you know what I mean? Filming and shit. I haven't filmed a video since '97 mind yo, so I'm like feeling myself. I'm in the building. You know what I mean, it's nothing. I got beautiful ladies who came out here to support this movement. East Oakland. West Coast.

Youth Outlook:WHAT'S THE NAME OF THE SONG?
Keak: The song is called "Super Hyphy". Yeah, you know I'm the inventor of that word, Hyphy, yadamean, fashizzy, them is my words, but it's a Bay thing so I just had to hit'em back with the superduper. They got a song out called "Hyphy, I'm on the remix, but this particular song is called "SuperHyphy", you know what I mean This is the movement that I'm bringing right now.

Youth Outlook:WHAT ALBUM IS THIS OFF OF?
Keak: This song right here will be off the "Dope Game 2". The Keak album is finished right now, it's called "Kunta Kenta", but this paticular song is off the "Dope Game 2".

Youth Outlook: TELL THE PEOPLE WHO KUNTA KENTE WAS AND WHY YOU CHOSE THAT NAME.
Keak: Actually Kunta Kente was a warrior, you know what I mean, if you saw "Roots"; if you go back to out ancestral. My daddy named me Kunta Kente, you know what I mean? I got 8 brothers and 3 sisters. I'm the baby, you feel me? So my dad named me that when I was born, mean I'm a warrior, meaning I'm finna try this shit, you feel me? Kut, you know what I mean? Not Toby, Kunta Kente, you know what I mean? Oh boy!

Youth Outlook: SO TELL UP ABOUT THIS ALBUM RIGHT HERE.
Keak: On this album right here, I'm going through a few situations to where I can't drop the Kead Da Sneak album right now so I'm just letting it be known that you can't stop me. I'm finna do this. But right now it's like since "Coke white T-shirt" and all of that, the Town needs me. It's like "Keak what's hat'nin?" My name had died now. For a minute I had controlled the radio waves, so now it's like ok, ya'll need something so I made sure this new song was on the air.

Youth Outlook:IS "DOPE GAME" GOING TO EVER DROP ANOTHER ALBUM WITH EVERYBODY ON IT?
Keak: "DOPE GAME 2", I just told you the first single is "Super Hyphy" with everybody on it. That is what I know this is off of.

Youth Outlook:Will 3x ever get back together?
Keak: I mean shit. It's back, it ain't never left. It's here to stay. It ain't never left. It's here to stay. It ain't going nowhere so holla at a player. Hello! And I'm gonna be the nigga that brings that back. So at the same time, I'm just keeping it crackin'. I mean that's it. I'm just keeping it lit.

Youth Outlook:SO WHO DO YOU LISTEN TO? WHO'S IN YOUR DECK?
Keak: Sneak.

Youth Outlook: WHICH ONES?
Keak: "Dope Game 2", 'cause it's the newest shit, you know what I mean. ANd I'm actually putting it together right now, getting a full glimpse of it from a fan's point of view. I'm listening to it like "damn if this is the new shit" you know what I mean? Something new. Something hot. Something that people ain't never heard before. If you trip off of the song, it's like "damn this nigga is..." you know what I mean? Thats what it is.

Youth Outlook: IN THE 14 YEARS THAT YOU'VE BEEN IN THE GAME, WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSON THAT YOU HAVE LEARNED?
Keak: That you don't get paid from selling records unless you're the record company, you know what I mean? Artist get paid from publishing, performing it, and their writings, so just know that. Most muthafuckaz be out here like "the record company is getting me." No. Unless you're actually physically the label, you don't get paid from selling records. You need to know that as a artist. That's the game that I want to give everybody, you know what I mean?

Youth Outlook: WHAT'S YOUR LAST WORDS TO THE BAY?
Keak: Heeellllooo! Keak Da Sneak ain't going nowhere. Ya'll know I got ya'll. This is for all my fans and all of my listeners. It's good. Oh Boy!
