but i thought people get married in "HOLY" matrimony...
which leads me to believe that a WEDDING is a religious ceremony or at least it originated from religion... (correct me if i'm wrong)

After saying all that bullshit about my religion they'll go on and say just let them get married, GTFOH! Marriage is a religious ceremony, if you're gonna knock my religion, don't be two faced about it then say well marriage is an exception. Seriously though, is marriage more of a religious ceremony than anything? Put aside abrahamic religion's ties to marriage. You can say it's pagan, but still that's a religion.

first off, marriage was created as a buisness agreement.

secondly, any arguement that states its benefical to have a 'family unit' is assuming a homo cant raise a family.

Can't believe I forgot about that! That marriage was also something to keep families or business together. We're all going to be split on this and it's not like we're all going to agree in unison. some dont, however, some see marriage as something thats 'final' or 'everlasting', but if that were the case, they would abolish divorce.. for the most part, it isnt buisness at all in this country.. its something that was tied into religion.. u meet a female that has a strict religious family and shes going to want to make them happy and tie the knot before popping out the lil ones..

Hell I know people that got married in Vegas who are more commited than people who make it a big religious tradition..

Marriage is not just something sanctioned by the church, it is also sanctioned and approved by the state. The State treats married/non-married people different and distributes or collects their resources accordingly; from that prospective it is easy to see why fags want a tax break!
