Roy Nelson vs. Junior Dos Santos In the works for 117 Main Card

Roy Nelson (15-4 MMA, 2-0 UFC) won't be tussling with Cheick Kongo after all.

Kongo (15-6-1 MMA, 8-4 UFC) has withdrawn from a rumored meeting with Nelson at UFC 116 due to a back injury, according to multiple reports. In his place, the UFC has slotted a surprising replacement: Junior Dos Santos (11-1 MMA, 5-0 UFC).

According to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) sources close to the event, at least one fighter has agreed to the contest, now targeted for the main card of UFC 117, with the intention to sign a bout agreement.

UFC 117 takes place Aug. 7 at EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City. A middleweight title match between champion Anderson Silva and challenger Chael Sonnen is expected to headline.

Nelson, 33, racked up his second consecutive octagon victory with a shellacking of 6-foot-11 Stefan Struve at UFC on Versus 1 in March. The winner of "The Ultimate Fighter 10" bucked most predictions by quickly getting inside on Struve and knocking him out with a right hand in just 33 seconds.

Previously, Nelson completed a decisive, yet controversial, sweep of the "TUF 10" heavyweights with a first-round knockout of Brendan Schaub in the show's finale. UFC president Dana White criticized his tactical approach to his fights on the show, and despite some initial push-back with the outspoken UFC figurehead, he later told MMAjunkie.com that he is now a "company man."

The 25-year-old Dos Santos fought alongside Nelson at UFC on Versus 1 and delivered his fifth consecutive stoppage victory when he knocked out former contender Gabriel Gonzaga in less than four minutes. The victory put the up-and-comer on many observers' lists as a serious contender in the division, which could make the fight with Nelson all the more pivotal.

The only man to make it out of the first round with Dos Santos is former PRIDE champion Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic, who verbally submitted to the Brazilian in the third round after being battered for more than two rounds.

Dos Santos also owns a first-round knockout victory over Struve, which took place at UFC 95 this past February.

Clay Guida vs. Rafael dos Anjos targeted for UFC 117 in August

A lightweight bout featuring the relentless Clay Guida (26-11 MMA, 6-5 UFC) and fast-rising jiu-jitsu ace Rafael dos Anjos (14-4 MMA, 2-3 UFC) is expected to be part of August's UFC 117 event.

A source close to one of the competitors told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that the fight, which was first reported by MMARecap.com, has been agreed upon by at least one competitor.

The fight is expected to be part of the televised main card of UFC 117, which takes place Aug. 7 at Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif.

The pay-per-view event features a headliner between middleweight champion Anderson Silva and top contender Chael Sonnen.

Guida, a crowd-pleasing lightweight who's been involved in some of the UFC's most legendary scraps, recently snapped a two-fight skid with a second-round submission victory over Shannon Gugerty. The 28-year-old posted a three-fight win streak (the second-longest of his career) with wins over Sam Schiavo, Mac Danzig and Nate Diaz before a very close split-decision defeat to Diego Sanchez and a submission defeat to Kenny Florian.

His opponent, 25-year-old dos Anjos, opened his UFC career with a knockout loss to Jeremy Stephens and a decision defeat to Tyson Griffin. Although the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt surprisingly got a third fight with the organization, he made the most of it and scored a unanimous-decision win over Rob Emerson. He then posted two more wins with a decision victory over Kyle Bradley and a second-round submission win over fellow contender Terry Etim at UFC 112 in April to extend his current win streak to three.

Hazelett vs. Story Official for UFC 117

In what could be described as a battle between two of the best up and coming welterweights, grappling guru Dustin Hazelett returns to action in Oakland at UFC 117 to face Rick "The Horror" Story, who is considered one of the top prospects in the division.

The bout was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the fight on Wednesday, stating that the fighter have verbally agreed to the match-up at this point.

It looked like title aspirations could be up in the air when Hazelett (12-5) entered his last fight against Paul Daley in January, but misfortune crashed on him in the form of Daley's strikes and he lost the bout by TKO.

Now back and healthy, Hazelett will hope to recapture that ranking in the division as he faces off against another young fighter who has his sights on the future of the welterweight class.

Rick Story (10-3) has rocketed off three wins in a row in the UFC, after dropping his first fight in the promotion by decision, and has been impressive in doing so.

Taking out Matt Hughes' trainee Brian Foster to start the streak, and most recently defeating former "Ultimate Fighter" competitor Nick Osipczak, Story will look to keep the wins going when he faces possibly his toughest test to date in Hazelett.

There's been no word if the fight between Hazelett and Story will make the main card for the pay-per-view, but if not the welterweights would surely spice up a Spike TV preliminary show if the UFC chooses to do one for the Oakland show.
