lol. Belenelli, Wright should be expendable, i think untouchables are Watson, Buike, Jax, Beans, Turiaf and Randolph.
I dont think Wright should be expendable yet unless the right deal comes. We are overloaded at guards so I dont think Buike or Watson should be untouchable even though they've turned out to be pretty solid...guards are a dime a dozen..

I LIKE THE WARRIORS SQUAD AS IS..I JUST THINK THEY COULD USE ONE MORE BIG MAN & ONE LESS GUARD...I CAN'T SAY WHO I WOULD LET GO BUT TRADING ELLIS WOULDN'T BE MY SOLUTION...I MIGHT CUT HIS PT UNTIL HE GETS BACC 2 NORMAL FORM BUT HE IS A FREAK TALENT & WE'VE ALL SEEN IT...IT'S JUST NOT HAPPENING YET...I LIKE RANDOLPH A LITTLE BETTER THAN WRIGHT...PERSONALLY I THINK THEY BOTH SHOULD HAVE STAYED IN COLLEGE & DEVELOPED MORE BIG MAN SKILLS CUZ IN THE LEAGUE THAT'S WHAT A 6-10 FORWARD NEEDS...RANDOLPH IS A LOT MORE AGGRESSIVE THAN WRIGHT BUT I THINK EVENTUALLY THEY CAN HELP EACH OTHER GET BETTER....WE SEE WHAT THE WARRIORS ARE CAPABLE OF BUT THEY JUST DON'T SHOW UP AGAINST THE AVERAGE TEAMS..SOMETIMES IT'S PERPLEXING...I THINK THEY WILL HEL BY THE END OF THE SEASON.....I STILL AM NOT A NELLY FAN

did you listen to it?
yeah.... main things he said were that he has been really impressed by randolph the past two games, and during practice. He sees randolph as a 3 in the future, with b-wright at the 4. Shot down the trade talks about monta and biedrins because of salary cap issues (base year players). About not playing the bench during blowouts he said that he is reluctant in doing so because he fears losing the lead if he did, which is why he keeps that starters out there for so long

funny part of the interview was when captain jack called in, in disguise, and asked nellie about his thoughts on stephen jackson as a player

he'll be on again next thursday taking more calls

Don Nelson On Warriors Roundtable: Recap (02/11/09)

A few weeks ago, Scott Howard-Cooper wrote an article about how Nellie felt his relationship with the Bay Area media has turned sour this season. (link here)

As Cooper mentioned, Nellie's plan was to appear on a radio talk show where he would be allowed to communicate directly to the fans. His original plan was to appear a week ago, but it wasn't until tonight that he appeared on Warriors Roundtable on KNBR 680.

If this is some part of Nellie's major plan to manipulate everyone in the Bay Area, then call me a sucker, because I believed every word he said tonight. He came off very sincere and honest about every topic that the callers brought to his attention. In case you missed him, I'm going to summarize some of the key points that were talked about.

While some callers did not agree on who should be playing how many minutes a game, it was clear that people could not understand the rotations Nellie has been using. Nellie said that he has been very conservative lately, which is why Jackson and the other starters have played so many minutes. He claims that once the roster is at full strength, and if Anthony Randolph continues to play well, then the veterans will be playing less each game.

Another major topic lately has been the trade rumors. A concerned season ticket holder called in to express how he pays to watch Ellis and Biedrins play, and does not want to see them get traded. Nellie insures that there will be no major trades for the Warriors before the deadline, especially including Ellis and Biedrins, who are in the base years of their contracts.

Anthony Randolph was a popular topic among callers. One caller asked who has a future with the Warriors between Randolph and Wright. Nellie responded by saying that both players have a future here, Wright at the 4, and Randolph at the 3. He even said that Randolph may see time at the 3 this season if he continues to play well, and the full line-up is healthy.

The final topic of note was when a caller asked what Nellie thought of Jackson's play as of late. Nellie talked about how if Jackson were a consistently good rebounder, he would be among the great players in the league. He praised his court awareness and noted his 10 assists - 0 turnover game against the Knicks. To everyone's surprise (including myself), the caller turned out to be Stephen Jackson himself and the studio had a good laugh.

Overall, the discussion was light-hearted and comforting, everything that I had hoped for. Nellie showed that he is on the same page as most Warriors fans, agreeing with a caller that this team has a talented young nucleus that just needs to be developed. Hopefully the Nellie that I heard tonight resonates through the organization and the Bay Area, so everyone just relaxes and watches this team develop into an explosive playoff contender.

Warriors' rookie Anthony Randolph catches Donnie Walsh's eye

BY FRANK ISOLA
DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER
Thursday, February 12th 2009, 12:24 AM

LOS ANGELES - Donnie Walsh and Glen Grunwald were watching intently as Golden State's Anthony Randolph went through his pregame drills early Tuesday in Oakland. Hours later, Walsh was huddling with Bill Duffy, Randolph's soon-to-be agent.

What happened in between watching Randolph and talking to Duffy was both alarming and eye-opening to the Knicks president and his top lieutenant; the Knicks surrendered an NBA season-high 144 points to the Warriors and lost their fifth straight game. Randolph, the highly sought-after rookie forward finished with 12 points and seven rebounds in 14 minutes.

Walsh is committed to giving the franchise salary-cap flexibility for the free agent class of 2010. But he's also committed to trying to reach the playoffs this season while building a team that would be attractive to future free agents LeBron James, Dwyane Wade or Chris Bosh.

With the trading deadline set for next Thursday, Walsh has only a few more days to upgrade the roster. Stephon Marbury's expiring contract could be an important trading chip. With David Lee and Nate Robinson both set to become restricted free agents in July, Walsh may look to trade one of his youngest players.

Randolph is on the Knicks' radar, but there is no guarantee that the Warriors will trade the first-year forward. Randolph's name has already been mentioned in trade talks with the Phoenix Suns for Amare Stoudemire and with Toronto for Bosh.

Walsh may have to address his backcourt situation with Chris Duhon being forced to miss Wednesday night's game against the Clippers with a sprained left ankle. Duhon will receive additional tests when he returns to New York this week.

The decision to exile Marbury left the Knicks with only one pure point guard. Robinson is more of a scoring guard, who doesn't run the pick-and-roll with Lee nearly as effectively as Duhon.

If Duhon is forced out of the lineup for an extended period of time, the Knicks would have to add a point guard if they had any hopes of reaching the playoffs. Reinstating Marbury is an option, but highly unlikely.
Duhon is among the league leaders in minutes played, and the wear and tear of the season is beginning to catch up to him. Duhon's production has gone down steadily in the past five games, all losses.
David Lee for Randolph? lee's a restricted free agent next year, and i think we will be able to afford him. This deal would work out well for new york since randolph is signed for the next 4 years for cheap, so they can go after lebron and one other free agent next year with max contracts

i wouldn't mind seeing this happen
