Gerralld wallace to the GS warriors?

Forward Gerald Wallace didn’t get rattled last summer as his name kept coming up in trade rumors. But now it’s different – it’s clear his name is in play, and he’s trying best he can to concentrate on the job at hand.

“Now it’s the regular season; I’m trying to adjust because all this is is a lot of distraction,’’ Wallace told the Observer before Friday’s home game against the New Orleans Hornets.

So does he think there’s substance in the talk?

“I don’t know. But as long as I’m here I’m going to do whatever I can to help our team win. If it goes down, then it goes down. I’ll just have to adjust. But right now my main thing is getting us on the right track.’’

Has Wallace asked the front office what’s going on?

“That’s not my job. It’s my agent’s job," Wallace replied. “My job is to come and play. As long as I’m here, as long as I’m wearing a Bobcats jersey, I’m going to play hard.’’

Teams have been inquiring about Wallace’s availability for months. The Observer reported in June that the Bobcats and Toronto Raptors talked about a Wallace-for-T.J. Ford swap prior to the Raptors sending Ford to the Indiana Pacers for Jermaine O’Neal.

One rumor circulating the country would have Wallace heading to Golden State, Warriors forward Al Harrington joining the New York Knicks and Eddy Curry leaving New York for the Bobcats.

Salaries for those three are close enough that such a trade is viable under salary-cap rules. However, that’s not necessarily the only scenario out there.

It’s also conceivable the Bobcats would consider dealing Raymond Felton, who becomes a restricted free agent in July. The Bobcats used a lottery pick in June on point guard D.J. Augusti

not bad for a game where most of the young players got plenty of playing time. hopefully they concentrate on developing the younger players instead of aiming for the playoffs this year....OR BETTER they develop their young players while aiming for the playoffs. i wanna see Hendrix get some PT too.

I just heard about this trade i doubt it will work but ive heard of it

Charlotte gets: Eddy Curry, David Lee; Golden State gets: Gerald Wallace; New York gets: Al Harrington. Salary-wise, it works.

i think nellie is trying to figure out which couple of the non starters are going to be capable to help once monta gets back. he has pushed our youngsters out there 2 games in a row. we lost both. but its experience gained. and i dont think its gonna take 50 wins to see the 8th or 7th spot this year. we do need to catcha break or 3 though. Detroit this week is gonna hurt. we got work to do. but im glad to see wright and randolph in there getting minutes.
