sometimes it's better that way. Actually almost always. You hear a rapper and you get this image of him in your mind...Kinda like when you read a book then watch the movie and feel let down.
truth. can you imagine what i thought when i first seen brotha lynch? talk about mindfuck

exactly. same goes for all those guys I used to listen to like lynch, esham, etc etc etc.

But it's definitely better that way. After all it's MUSIC. Looks and all that shouldn't effect something we listen to.

In a way I miss the era of tapes and pre-internet. Just listening to the music, not knowing shit or giving a fuck about what the artists look like.

People focus on that shit way too much these days. Oh so and so looks funny, he sucks! Now days it's the entire package that has to be sold for the most part, the music is only a part of that. It's all about image and bullshit.

For example I doubt a black, one eyed midget like Bushwick Bill could make it today. I could see it - TMZ would post embarrassing pictures of him all the time, people would photoshop him for the LULZ, making him a joke and totally killing his career without giving a fuck that he's a dope rapper. So as a society we've regressed in that sense.

truest words right there ^

Its almost like instant technology single handedly killed alot of different industries. Ade there ever any surprises anymore? Remsmber hearing on the radio so and so collaborated and they got the track, stay tuned around 6pm? Having to record a song with a cassette because the tape wasnt out and wont be for months? Those were the golden era of music. Now anyone can be famous with the right chemistry
